Collaborative Services was referred to me by a friend who had a new generator installed. They did the electrical work to connect my new hot tub. John Blasing was the electrician who showed up to do the work and was very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend this company.

Collaborative Services technician Craig came by to give me an oil change on my generator today. He educated me on how to change my oil in an emergency (storm) in case the company is not available to reach me and I’m enclosing the 100hr mark. He gave me the do’s and don’t’s, he was very informative and answered every question with no hesitation (he was knowledgeable and can tell he knew his stuff)! I was so happy that the company have an employee like this young man! While showing me how to change my oil, he handed me his pocket portable fan to keep me cool. This guy truly represented the company extremely well and I have not been more satisfied with a company as such!

Great, honest, privately owned business. Honestly, we had a couple hick-ups within my service experience. However, the mark of excellent customer service is how they behave when things don't go as planned. Collaborative Services was transparent, earnest, and made everything right in the end. I'll be a life-long customer! Thanks for everything Collab, especially Laronda!

Very much impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of Craig B. while servicing our Generac unit. Took his time to ensure all was as it should be, answered my (many) questions clearly and with clear knowledge. A great representative of his company and created a long-term repeat customer.

Craig came out to service / inspect my generator this past Saturday 08/10/2024. I hope I didn't keep him too long, but as we have only had our generator since February, I am very ignorant about them & I picked his brain for a bit. Craig gave me the rundown on how they work, what I can & cannot do, how to maintain the generator at my level, what he was doing, & walked me through several functions on the display. I had several questions & he was patient & took the time to give me detailed answers. Craig is a nice guy & very attentive to his work & (something big for me) cleaned up & left the area just as clean as it was when he arrived. I will be requesting Craig to come back for my next inspection / maintenance as I believe keeping the same people working on equipment / dealing with customers they are familiar with is important. Many thanks from my family to Craig for being a well-rounded nice guy & a knowledgeable technician.

I wanted to share a little about our experience with Collaborative Services to hopefully forewarn others from being subjected to the same experience.
I recently purchased a home with an existing Generac generator. I was encouraged by the prior owner to use Collaborative Services to service and monitor the generator which is fully warranted through 2026
Eventually I made contact with Victor at Collaborative Services to discuss this service plan and reaffirm that the generator was in fact still under warranty, which I already knew, but wanted Collaborative to also verify their records since they had originally installed it.
All of this was confirmed and I agreed to an annual service plan which includes an annual visit to inspect and check out the generator. During my conversation with Victor, I explained to him that it appeared that the generator was experiencing a slow oil leak and asked if we could arrange for someone to come out and check things out. He said he would work to arrange this.
A few days later I received an anonymous text from someone stating they were with Collaborative and would be at my home the next day to inspect the generator and that I would be assessed a fee of $195 trip charge as well. This after I had agreed to an annual Service plan that would cost me close to $400.
So, without ever visiting my home or seeing the generator which IS under warranty Collaborative was going to hit me for close to $600 ?? And a late evening anonymous text ? This is how you do business??
Furthermore, I confirmed with Generac that the warranty did not require me to be on any service plan with Collaborative to remain valid which Victor had inferred to me was required.
In the coming days I attempted to reach Victor to discuss this matter directly but was told he was out ill. Once I did make contact with him, I decided that the better course of action for our household was to forgo doing any further business with Collaborative.
I’d like to say that was the end of the story, but then yesterday I received an invoice from Victor via email for the Service Plan I had already cancelled, which of course prompted another call to hopefully finally get the matter straightened out.
After being advised of Collaborative’s reputation by the prior home owner this was just a very disappointing all around experience and it felt as though they were only interested in getting into my wallet and not providing any Services and certainly not collaborative.
Addendum: wanted to comment on the owners response to this; I never had any scheduled appt with them.
True I had requested one, but to receive an anonymous text late in the evening informing me I would have to pony up $195 the next day, after just agreeing to spend $400 for annual maintenance contract just didn't and won't sit well with me.
It is a bad business practice and yes as they admitted very impersonal.
Just felt they want to extract as much money from me without really providing much in the way of any tangible service to date.

Craig my technician came out for my annual inspection and maintenance. Because the recent storms I wanted to be on site to understand and learn more about my generator. He was extremely efficient and knowledgeable and had the job done very quickly. Took a few extra minutes to show me how to do some manual operations in case I need to self storm prep. But assured me, it was not necessary as it’s all automated! I love having the extra confidence of knowing how to run the machine manually if need be.
In addition, he made a few recommendations to help my comfort level in the event that we need to use it again! Thank you, Craig!

We actually bought our generator several weeks ago, but then we had to get HOA approval and the like for install. It was a longer process than anticipated. This pushed our install day to July 11th, but Beryl hit July 8. I figured there was no way our generator was being install. I didn't even bother to call and check. I just figured we were a week late and a dollar short. Then Thursday morning, we get the call-- On the way with your generator! My jaw almost hit the floor. John C and his crew were amazing. It was a million degrees, but they were courteous and knowledgeable. 5 outta 5 for office staff and install staff.

We live in Kingwood. The storm damage is terrible and we haven’t had power since Monday - almost a full week. Today our generator just quit. We tried everything we knew and even called Generac. Eventually they said we had to call for service. I called the group who installed it many times - no answer and no response at all. I looked on Generac website to find other options. I called them all. The ONLY return call I got was from Collaborative Services! He called me and helped us troubleshoot and then promised to come TODAY to do the needed maintenance to keep us going. I am so impressed. Great service is hard to find, particularly after a storm, and this was above and beyond! Highly recommend them for all of your generator needs.

Was referred to collaborative services by a neighbor and the initial portion of the install was pleasant. Generac was offering a 10 year warranty and they helped me obtain that and installed earlier due to cancellation by another client. Fast forward to Hurricane Beryl and this company has completely let me down. Our generator gave out about 8 hours into the storm. Called collaborative services and despite having purchased the program that reportedly gets you to the front of the line, there was still a large wait. Then I told them my error code and was told that there was nothing they could do about it urgently and I would just have to wait. Added bonus, we have a 6 year old, a seven week old and my wife is pregnant with twins. None of this moved the company to more urgently evaluate our generator or help us out. I would absolutely not recommend this company because they seem eager and very capable of selling generators and getting them installed, but lack the proper resources and man power to appropriately triage and manage all the issues that happen when disaster strikes.
Update: Was called by the operations manager who told me that because of our error code 1902 which means a rotor issue, that our unit is not able to be fixed immediately. As such and despite our situation, he maintained that they took appropriate action as there were other people on dialysis or older individuals without AC who needed more help and who’s generators could be fixed.
They reportedly did come to evaluate the unit 3 days after the storm (Thursday) but with no one home or answering the phone (which they wrote down incorrectly despite having it on file with my account), elected not to evaluate the unit. He then cited my one star review above as his reason for not coming to check our unit again for now and was going to “help others who are more appreciative of their services.” I hope they find clients in the future who are without young children, pregnant spouses, newborns or trying to save a freezer trove of breast milk to feed their newborn. Would absolutely never recommend this company to anyone.
Update: Called the company from mine and my wife’s phone and the company did not answer, then hid my phone number and they answered. The operations manager called me back and asked what I wanted. I told him that in his company’s response it said to contact them directly to “address your concerns and assist you.” I then requested that he send someone out to evaluate our unit in the near future as per the service agreement we purchased. Instead of agreeing to this request, the operations manager told me that because of my review, he wished to terminate our service agreement and would refund our money for the agreement as they were not going to make us happy. He then called hours later threatening that he spoke to their attorneys and because my review was not accurate, his attorneys were going to contact me. There seems to be a disconnect between the operations manager and the response team for reviews as I found the response to my review appropriate and the operation manager’s response to be quite different.
