This business owner -James Crawford is unprofessional and takes on projects he has no idea how to complete and does less than mediocre work. Customer service is sub par and definitely not high on his priority list.
I took my car in to have the following items installed; stereo, amps, alarm and tint.
I received a quote for work to be completed. I paid a deposit totaling half of the bill. James stated he was a viper dealer but did not have the alarm in stock. He would order it and get started when it arrived.
When the alarm arrived, I dropped off the car. Little did I know, this guy would have my car for weeks. He stated he was having problems installing the alarm. He was even asking me for advice and if I had any contacts of people that had installed this alarm on a similar car so that he could speak to them.
This was my queue. After several conversations with him, I requested a full refund for the alarm and he stated he could not give me a refund because it was a special order and I was stuck with the alarm. Then he suggested that I have it installed in my wife's vehicle. I mentioned that was unacceptable as my wife had a perfectly functioning alarm in her vehicle. I purchased the alarm for this car and wanted it installed as originally agreed. Once again this was not acceptable. There would be no need for the alarm if it wasn't for the original car per the terms of our original agreement.
The other problem with this guy was that he does not think before he starts a project. For example, he had to redo my tint several times due to his shop bay being so dusty with saw dust. The saw dust was trapped in between the tint film and the glass. Despite several attempts, the tint was not done correctly and I decided not to go back to him. I always give people the benefit of the doubt but after several failed attempts and an alarm he couldn't install, I wasn’t looking forward to continuing on a path of failed attempts yet again.
Next, the stereo he installed had a problem with the volume going in and out intermittently. I mentioned this to him and he asked "Why do you listen to the radio so much?" "You should have a usb drive and listen to music that way." Honestly, is that how you handle an issue? By this point, I was not comfortable with him touching any of my vehicles again. You don't handle a situation like this by telling a customer you shouldn't listen to the radio.
Lastly, he attempted to paint some of my dashboard buttons with an air brush. Again, he did this while my car was parked in the same bay he was painting in and my car fell victim to an overspray. The buttons also bubbled and I had to send them off to have them professionally re-finished which then cost me extra. He never settled that issue either.
Beware! Stay away from this shop. James was a complete "NOVICE !" can't handle anything more complex than a simple radio install. Do not take your expensive vehicles to this place. He lacks common sense. In the end, I let the judicial system make this right.

I had such an amazing experience at On Top Audio! If you're in New Braunfels, San Antonio, or even Austin area, it's worth going to this business for the service and quality they provide! I have a 1999 land rover discovery, and it needed some love! A new radio, and a new HVAC panel installed. I have had *such negative* experiences at dealerships with their high prices and horrendous wait times to get anything done...so I was pleasantly surprised when I got everything fixed and installed that I wanted to, and for a fraction of the cost! It's a family run business, and their attention to detail, knowledge and willingness to work with you really shine. James exceeded my expectations! Everyone, just go here to get your electrical work, audio work and beyond done. Don't waste your time anywhere else- On Top Audio is the best!!

I had originally gone to Audio Outlet in San Marcos to install new speakers and amp to my 02 Camaro. For nearly a year I had issues where my music would cut in and out. Even after 4-5 visits each 1-2 hours long they were "unable to diagnose the issue."
James was able to locate and resolve the problem after one appointment and for a reasonable price! What I like about On-top Audio is that you're communicating directly with the person doing the installation and not a middle person. I also appreciate not being treated like another time slot and how genuine everyone was here. Will definitely be returning.

I had a subwoofer installed at On Top Audio, they did wonderful work! This is a family business and everyone was fantastic. They explained everything, and had great customer service and great prices. I will refer anyone i know to them for any audio work. Thank you On Top Audio!

Could not get install correct. Took it to another place. Many things were incorrect in their placement, used wire gauge that was not thick enough for speakers, etc. Payed for parts that did not even need to be used. Don't want a refund - just to inform others of the issues.

This family owned and operated business is an all around wonderful experience. They always exceed expectations. A great example was when I stopped in briefly for something and they noticed my front tire was almost flat. I was just getting ready to head to Austin and I never would have known about the tire's condition, let alone made it to my destination. Thank you "On Top Audio " for really looking out for your customers! Please stop in, you won't be disappointed!
