Very nice units. Rent 4 climate control units and love the location. I had the pleasure meeting Mr. John Loe.

Very roomy storage room. We have rented here on several occasions, with only minor issues. Mostly mice and rats. The rat problem seems to be stationary. Now I have decided I will rent here no more. Finally, in addition to the rent, Loe's storage wants to charge me an additional $9.00 per mo. insurance charge, or compel me to get insurance through my home owner policy. They have to have a copy from my insurance company to make sure I comply. Being an inquisitive sort of person, this new Loes demand poses several questions for me. First, what business is it of Loes what insurance company I use? I think Loes knows, that most people using storage are going to have to comply with their $9. demand, because they rent. Due to this many won't have home owners insurance. What insurance carrier are they using to repay you in case of loss? I don't see Loes revealing that information. Can you imagine getting the full value of your property from a self insured property owner? What proof is needed for you to provide proove your property value? Will Loes take your word? Will you be paid 100% value? 50% value? 0% value? Will they require pictures as proof of property? Or is this just another way to grab some more money? If I don't have insurance through my home owners insurance, I will pay the $9.00, until I can relocate or sell the property in our storage. Is this $9. per month insurance governed by the Texas Insurance Board? Why wasn't I told my property was in danger in this storage place to begin with? Like, "sir, our storage is in such danger of theft, we are going to charge you another $9. per month for you to store property here". Will the additional $9. per mo be used to increase security? More cameras? Security gates with pass code? Someone to do drive through patrols periodically? Are the current storeage tenants going to be grandfathered in since our original contract did not include this charge? Sorry for the long post, but it really bugs me to think someone woke up one morning and decided, "Hey! I've got a great idea! I dreamed of a way to pick up another $9. per month on each customer". While $9. may not be much, it is still my $9. unless I let someone take it without protest.

By the third day the owner stole all the items in my storage room. When I showed up on day 4 with more things to put in there I was shocked to see my unit was completely empty. I thought I had been robbed but the secretary said the owner had removed my items and gave me his number. Apparently, despite paying for the month, you break your contract if your unit isnt locked. And I had forgotten to buy a lock the first day. The owner took one call from me where I asked about my missing belongings. He told me my items were thrown away because I didnt put a lock on my unit and he said "You didnt have nothing of value in there anyway". My mother passed away recently and the unit was full of her things. Including her ashes. And no, none of it was of any value to anyone but me. After that first call he never talked to me again. I guess he blocked me. I should sue him. Maybe I will. I just wish I had known this owner was a crook before I trusted him with such important irreplaceable items. After this experience I cant see me ever renting another storage unit again from any company. But this guy? I feel like he should be in jail.
