Maybe it was because I was in Texas, which seems like a whole nother country in and of itself, but I found this store to be really charming and have everything that I was looking for. Liquor: we don't have these in the grocery stores, Walmarts in New Jersey Blue Bell ice cream: We don't have this in NJ, either.. Big Red soda: Another non-NJ luxury.. Ok, maybe it wasn't the Walmart that was so special... just that it was in Texas? LOL. Staff was friendly and everything was clean.

I love Small-Mart! Like technically I live closest to the Brookshire's on University but I drive the extra .2 of a mile to get to Small-Mart because I can get pretty much everything I need w/o all the fun distractions I get going to Super Wal Mart. So much easier. Although they randomly stop selling stuff I like, they hide new products and you don't even know they're available unless you are looking at every single item in the store. I don't ENJOY spending forever in the grocery store, y'all may know me, I come in, pull off to the side and immediately put my headphones in and do ME. I want the least possible human interaction so I go at an odd hour usually and use the self checkout. I mean I'm only shopping for 1 it's not THAT much stuff. I can get ice, I do wish I could buy an icee at self checkout, but I guess the point is that the cashier issues the cup to prevent theft or people being sneaky, I'm an honest person who wants an icee just like anyone else!

Regarding customer service at the pharmacy, we pay cash for prescriptions however we use GoodRx coupons generally since cash prices are high. When picking up a couple of prescriptions we forgot to give the coupon information and went back the next day to see if the discount could be applied and refunded. The reluctant pharmacist finally said she could do it once but couldn't touch my phone to get the necessary numbers. She wanted me to drive home (12 miles) and come back with the printed page. I asked if she could see the image on my phone and then once my husband walked up she said yes they could look at the phone. The pharmacist asked a tech to finish up. The tech was very polite and helpful, the pharmacist, not so much. When my husband was there the day before the same pharmacist took his phone from his hand to apply the same GoodRx number to one of the 3 scripts that were picked up.

Horrible "customer service" The assistant manager was rude and constantly interrupted, nobody working the counter, and they were not prepared to help customers. Sad that a new place is this poorly staffed.
