PSA: DON'T GO THERE
They lied to my face about not having my spouse's meds ... until I asked what to do about the withdrawal. Suddenly they had it - but were incredibly rude about it. Suddenly going off thyroid medicine, for example, and going a few days without can actually kill vulnerable patients.

I had a late doctors appointment. Fortunately, I got a text message stating that both of my medicines were ready to be picked up then I got a courtesy call before they closed. I am very happy with this phenomenal experience that I received. I normally use Mount Pleasant pharmacy, but today I think I will be making the change, I’m also very appreciative with all the staff that explain how to take my medication’s. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the pharmacy where they are transitioning from one Pharmacy to another, God bless everyone working there and talking the time to take care of their families. Nothing but sweet kind customer service.

Since Brookshire changed to a Walgreens it has been horrible. They cannot get medications filled on time or you get the run around that they had to order the medication and it may take 7 days for it to come in. These are medications I take on a regular basis and always call them in at least 5 days before they are scheduled to be filled and at times when I have called early to order the refill they tell me I have to wait to order the medication on the exact date it is to be refilled. So in doing that I'm out of the medication by calling the day it's due to be filled. It's bad when you are on blood pressure meds, insulin and anxiety meds just to name a few that I've had to do without. I definitely do NOT wish this on anyone else so with that being said stay away from the Walgreens in Mt.vernon, TX. I unfortunately have to use this incompetent pharmacy because the smaller pharmacy we have in town doesn't take my insurance. If things continue as it has been with this Walgreens I will have no other choice than to transfer to another pharmacy which is 15 miles from Mt. Vernon. which is most likely what I will be doing and just drive the 30 mile round trip to get my medications. Shame on you Walgreens for having such poor poor customer service and the way you handle medication refills or for that matter new prescriptions.

This is a small pharmacy but are more than able to handle all your pharmacy needs. There is only one other pharmacy in town that is new and bigger but that pharmacy has trouble filling 90 day supplies. Brookshires's always has what I need.

I went to the Brookshire’s in Winnsboro yesterday. The inventory was great and the store is under construction. I went to the Mount Vernon Store Monday looking for squash and they were totally out, large holes that cans should be in are empty and they are very low on most supplies. I thought it was because of COVID and problems with distribution but Winnsboro had everything in abundance so the Brookshire’s distribution center has the supplies. Residents in Mt. Vernon don’t seem to rate a good supply of produce, frozen foods, canned goods and other common supplies. I did not know it was our store that did not have what we need. Makes me think that maybe we should be looking for some competition for Brookshire’s instead of just putting up with it.

After recently buying some frozen items (ice cream, pizzas, pot pies, etc.), we discovered that some items must have defrosted and then refrozen. I sent an email to the store to alert them to the problem. Today Don delivered bags of replacement groceries (we don’t live in town) and a lovely bouquet. Great customer service!
