Not only is the lumber better quality and cheaper than at the giant box stores but there’s a better selection and it’s way less hassle to buy. Here, I just go inside and buy, walk out with a loading ticket, and the friendly guys in the yard take care of the rest. At a giant box store, I have to hunt down a lumber cart, load it myself off their cumbersome racks, push lumber sticking out all over through the store, steer it through check out, pay a higher price, push it to my truck, and load it myself all over again.
