This branch is inside Walmart. I've been coming here for years! They know me by name. I pass another branch to come here because of the awesome customer service. Even when they get new team members the service has been consistent. Shout out to Ms. Renee, Passion, Vi, Jonathan, and Paloma! Always knowledgeable, patient and kind.

Where do I start with Woodforest. They are the most outdated bank I have done business with. The only way to activate their debit cards to to go to a branch and use the atm. There was fraud on my debit card, my account was drained, they only caught 2 of the smaller transactions, and reversed them. They said I would have to do a dispute for the rest of the charges even though they were only minutes apart. They make you come in to a branch and sign forms about the fraud, this took me about 30 minutes in the branch. They told me I would get the money back in 3-5 days. That's not the norm, first off. I called back in 4 business days to check on the status to find out the papers were never "sent in" from the branch I visited, so they can't process my money back to me. The customer service "manager" couldn't get ahold of the branch I signed papers at, so they have to request the papers electronically. I was on the phone for 25 minutes while she tried to get someone in the branch to answer the phone, just for her to tell me she couldn't help me today because no one would answer the phone at that branch. Then she continued to question me as if I never went in and signed the papers. They said they do not have to give me any type of provisional credit for the next 10 days and they will get back to me. This bank is a joke.

Woodforest? I'm not sure. Wooddesert? Definitely. It's good to use smaller local banks because you're keeping money in the community and also because they tend to be more willing to bend their rules to help you and have a better chance of avoiding the awful rules that the big Banks use. This is one of those cases. If we were down in Missouri City we would choose this over our big Bank. A couple times I've been in here they've been nice.

My experience with setting up a new account at this particular "WOODFOREST" National Bank was five star! Mr.Smith gave me excellent customer service; besides opening an account with ease, I received advice on not only how to establish credit,but also extra advice on how to slowly increase my bank loan amounts, over time. Not being a financial "goo-roe" , I greatly appreciated the tips! I was treated like a millionaire even though I am far from being one, to date... Stop in this branch and ask for Mr. Byron Smith.
