Went to S cond Mile for WorkFaith seminar. There we were given a class on how to upgrade our resumes and improve our interview skills in our job searches. It was extremely helpful and enlightening.
Just completed another class at 2nd Mile called Faith and Finance. Truly a God centered understanding of how we are expected to be good stewards of what God has given us. Very helpful and enlightening. Our instructors were informed and helpful.

Good overall retail store and resources outlet … but far as employment I wouldn’t suggest working here . If you’re not volunteering DO NOT WORK HERE ! Not only do the image they give out don’t match their values and ethnics , the harsh and brittle attitude by Stephanie (manager) would have you question if this is truly a Christian environment . After disclosing to them about my DV situation the manager Stephanie was passive aggressive to the point I told her that her approach was sarcastic , insensitive, and cut throat . She sided with Mrs . Kathy whom I disclosed to her was stealing by self pricing the item to management , and people who fit the same ethnicity as herself . After experiencing a hostile work environment and telling direct management about the thief , misconduct , and improper treatment regarding others was addressed I was suspended after being told to openly express myself . I do not and won’t respect an organization that prey on religious values and do not experience it . Imagine being told that your issues was going be addressed and that it was a welcoming environment , after me myself told her I don’t feel comfortable about how I was spoke to nor the overall experience. I would never volunteer nor work here . After customers told me countless times it was favoritism , racism , and thief and nothing was resolved … then a majority of the people can’t be lying .
ALSO NOTED …
My work ethnic was never questioned as a matter of fact after volunteering to leave my shift early because how I felt I was told to please stay to finish my shift . I was also offered a possible placement in another department . But what a conscience once I address issues of thief and other issues my time has expired . No love lost I just know people come dressed a sheep in wolves clothing and they are definitely the definition of that expression .
Stephanie and Mrs Kathy are in cahoots with each other . And have been notified about the price adjustment and no investigation has been done !

I cleared the back warehouse area for retail after being told by Stephanie to express my feelings ! I clearly was in the back by myself and after not coming to work due to my dv situation . I was belittled by Mrs Kathy and told to address the issue . What manager ask another person am I scared of the other coworker Mrs Kathy ? And if I wasn’t I’ll be in front of her after experiencing a traumatic experience due to dv a week prior . Rules are made up as they go and it seem
No one tops Stephanie’s top employee Mrs Kathy ! I was also bit by multiple spiders and bugs on more than one occasion . Despite me sweating and disclosing my health condition I was still required to go into a moist box to get the clothes and Mrs Kathy was never required to do such duties .
Stephanie has dreads and her picture is below . She also made a racial comment about someone doing a complaint and saying it was a dark tone female . Remind you I got a spectum piercing in my nose , dreads , and glasses . She told me and another black woman she couldn’t confirm who it was and gave us a warning . So that was one of the many conversations I had .

I notified higher management Sarah white about the employer second Mike still listed me as a working employee despite being suspended from the company as of 05/16/24 with no update , warning , or even conversation. Now since I reached out to upper management and mentioned bringing the police for them to honestly disclose on paperwork I no longer work for them . I did not like the non cooperation with the company to get paperwork completed nor to analyze the situation where I was suspended .
DONORS
Be careful about giving to this organization. They like to over price their items and don’t consider quality or quantity.

From what I could tell, the people there mean well, but I did not appreciate getting home and seeing the food that I received was well past the best by date. They covered the clearly old and moldy produce with dirty carrots, rice, and other non perishables. I understand that they may not be getting enough donations but to give people in need inedible trash is unacceptable. Not to mention during our counselor meeting one of the counselors jumped into religion and about sin; asking about whether or not we knew where we would end up. I was told I would be counseled about the program, not about who I serve. Please be mindful about who you preach to and what items you give out, because my experience was offensive and unjust.

Come for classes. Look at the website. Sign-up for the news letter. Become a client in the Food Rx Program by being referred by a designated Healthcare Partner. Those special markets happen 2x monthly and receive 30 ponds of free fruits and vegetables and additional items. There are cooking classes, networking, budget balancing, credit building, job skills/resources, and other classes. If you want them to add anything, let them know. If you have a disability, come on; so do I and my partner.
