Stopped in on Saturday morning and received the same consistent friendly helpful service that I have been receiving from this location and the same dedicated-pleasant employee for over 20 years of shopping here. My go to favorites are the de-boned chicken stuffed with rice, broccoli & cheese dressing, boudain links, sausage on a stick, etoufee and many more. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was very hospitable and helpful to us. “OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit me was insane! I didn't bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is. I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren't too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh... Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good. I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn't overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.”

“Oh yeah my first time experience I went in there about a few days by four or five days ago after I left the dentist office I was looking for some cashews peanuts with lime for one of my co-workers they had some but it wasn't a type of brand that we wanted but the store is clean me the manager he was real nice to help me out looking for the peanuts and it's a nice place to go get gas food snacks it's clean and next door is a food place I don't remember the name of it and the door after that is a shopping strip where Mama's donut oh man you talking about some good donuts and some good breakfast kolaches in the morning oh man they got a mean croissant sandwich though yeah breakfast that is awesome they off the chain. But at on meat market you can get drinks food and play their games and get some gas it's a nice neighborhood so stop by it's call Mobile gas station and enjoy yourself take your family the kids that would love the candy all they have the snacks and grown ups drinks environment that they have so whenever you decide you want to barbecue or go on a picnic or go fishing whatever stop by and get everything that you need they will have it thank you God bless.”
“Opens at 6am and closes 11 pm sometimes 12 am. The food they prepare inside is good. Staff is cool. Only one register. They do have a western union box so you can send money or receive. Great selection of everything you need. Some items may be expired but those you can really tell. A lot of drunk grown Mexican men stand sit or lay in front or on the side of the store. Sometimes they bother you, other times they don’t… it’s 50/50. More than enough parking available. Overall 5 stars in my book. Super convenient to anyone who stays on club creek.”

“Not sure what the negative comments are about but my experience was way different. Very good selections of halal meats and basic grocery essentials like tomatoes, onions, peppers, the best Okra, fresh bread and rice. They have a variety of lentils and things people from (Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Kashmir) will appreciate. Giovanni the cashier was awesome and friendly. Nobody fraudulently did anything to my transaction so I have no problem going back. I recommend this grocer if youre looking for halal/zabihah lamb, goat, beef and chicken.”

“I was there today, totally unexpected. My reason for being in that area was to visit the clothing shops, but I noticed this La Michoacana and since I was hungry, decided to try it (been to a couple of the other ones) and I was totally impressed by this one! It is definitely the BEST one of the ones I've been to!The store overall looks neat and clean, but in particular the restaurant was a lot better. All of the food looked a lot fresher and way more appetizing.I don't know if these are "franchised" stores or if they're all under same ownership, but whatever they're doing at this store, it works!The only thing I would change, would be the same thing I had already mentioned in my review of the store on Hillcroft, which is that the ladies, SHOULD NOT be touching the same receipt that went from the cashier hands, to your hands and now to the hands of the ladies handling the food!! I know they're mainly serving onto plates, but they're also handling tortillas, preparing tacos, gorditas, etc. I thought that was going to be different at this store, but unfortunately it wasn't.”

“Purchased 350 tacos (beef & chicken) for a catering event from Super Mercado Popular. They were very helpful and they even got us a super affordable price for the tacos! Everybody loved how authentic and amazing they taste. Each taco was wrapped in foil, and they provided more than enough salsa (in tiny sauce containers) and condiments (in tiny plastic bags). Can't wait to order from them again for future events!”
