“Hebert's is a fantastic Houston staple for great Cajun specialty foods. Stopped in on Saturday morning and received the same consistent friendly helpful service that I have been receiving from this location and the same dedicated-pleasant employee for over 20 years of shopping here. My go to favorites are the de-boned chicken stuffed with rice, broccoli & cheese dressing, boudain links, sausage on a stick, etoufee and many more. Love the taste of their food and will remain a loyal customer for years to come!”
“OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit me was insane! I didn’t bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is.I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren’t too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh… Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good.I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn’t overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly.Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.”

“My boyfriend and I found them on Google, they are closer to us than a lot of halal meat markets. We came in looking for good quality meat, and that's exactly what we purchased. We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was very hospitable and helpful to us. They aren't fully open on Tuesdays, but that didn't stop them from giving us exactly what we needed at an excellent price. Better than Costco.We will definitely be coming back ?”

“Purchased 350 tacos (beef & chicken) for a catering event from Super Mercado Popular. They were very helpful and they even got us a super affordable price for the tacos! Everybody loved how authentic and amazing they taste. Each taco was wrapped in foil, and they provided more than enough salsa (in tiny sauce containers) and condiments (in tiny plastic bags). Can't wait to order from them again for future events!”

“La Michoacana has always been a go to spot on sundays when I'm in the mood for some bog ol quesadillas or tacos. Their way of paying for the food is not as convenient but I guess it's safe. They have all kinds of snacks and foods that ypu couldn't find at Walmart or Target. Definitely check this place out if you want legit ingredients for your next latin dish.”

“Opens at 6am and closes 11 pm sometimes 12 am. The food they prepare inside is good. Staff is cool. Only one register. They do have a western union box so you can send money or receive. Great selection of everything you need. Some items may be expired but those you can really tell. A lot of drunk grown Mexican men stand sit or lay in front or on the side of the store. Sometimes they bother you, other times they don’t… it’s 50/50. More than enough parking available. Overall 5 stars in my book. Super convenient to anyone who stays on club creek.”

“Not sure what the negative comments are about but my experience was way different. Very good selections of halal meats and basic grocery essentials like tomatoes, onions, peppers, the best Okra, fresh bread and rice. They have a variety of lentils and things people from (Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Kashmir) will appreciate. Giovanni the cashier was awesome and friendly. Nobody fraudulently did anything to my transaction so I have no problem going back. I recommend this grocer if youre looking for halal/zabihah lamb, goat, beef and chicken.”

“I just discovered this rare gem in Katy Texas. This is a division of H-E-B and this is the most affordable grocery store. Their groceries are quality. You can get 3 pounds of bananas always for 99 cents. You can get a 1 gallon bottle of spring water for $.95. They have such affordable pricing and it has saved me so much money in the long run in the past several months. This store is constantly busy, but it is worth the trip. I absolutely love their product selection and would recommend others to check them out.”
