I dropped off some items to donate and the young attendant had a huge attitude problem with me when I was putting my donation into the cart, claiming I can’t donate while he was helping another person.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the selection of inventory was at this location. It was also very clean and organized. 5 stars, will be back.

This location pull’s the 50% off items so no one can get a sale. They also started raising prices on items they think are worth more. Items are donated and shouldn’t be sold for more than other items. It’s not like they sell the brands that aren’t luxury items for a cheaper price. There are items with tags that say $5 and goodwill has it priced $7.99! Ridiculous

I will no longer be donating to Goodwill! I was sitting in my vehicle and waiting on a patron to unload his trailer full of items at the Goodwill on Gus Thomasson in Mesquite. There were 2 vehicles in front of me. After about 7 to 8 minutes of waiting, I backed up and pulled in one of the 3 spaces directly in front on the donation drive thru, thinking I could just walk up and give my 1 bag to another attendant. The attendant who was chatting it up with the patron with the trailer full of items asked me if I was there to donate. I told him yes I was. He then told me I had to get in the drive thru line to donate. Mind you, I had one bag in my hand. I told him that I’ve been waiting nearly 10 minutes and I asked him how much longer he thought it would take. He said, “ however long it takes!” I asked him, “ you mean I can’t just hand off my donation to the other attendant?” He said NO and that I had to get in the driveway thru if I wanted to donate, and wait however long it took to do so!!!! Are you kidding me?!!! At that point I proceeded to back out and left the Goodwill parking lot. I will not put up with rudeness and silly policies when I’m trying to give. I’d rather give my items to the homeless person on the street!!!! Good riddance “Good”will !!!I found out later while googling that I can call and schedule a pickup from my home with the Salvation Army! That’s what I’ll do from here on out!!!!

I won't be donating to Goodwill anymore. I was sitting in my vehicle waiting to pull up to donate one bag of clothing and after waiting for one patron to unload his trailer full of whatever it was, I proceeded to back out to pull into a space directly in front of the drive through. I was then told that I could not bring my one bag to the door and that I had to get in the drive through line if I wanted to donate l. I asked the attendant how much longer would it be ( after waiting nearly 10 minutes in the line)... he said he didn't know but however long it took for the current patron to finish unloading his truck full of stuff. How ludicrous to suggest I must wait however long to donate and that I couldn't just give another attendant my bag of items by just parking my vehicle and walking up there to the donate area. I'd rather give my things to the person in the street now after this incident!!!

Customer Service I came to donate some very nice women's clothing that was neatly folded in boxes. It was about 30 minutes before the store opened. I drove up to the donation area and thought it would be ok to nicely and respectfully put the boxes under the covered area at the donation door because that's what is allowed at another location so I thought it was allowed at all locations. At one time even this location allowed donators to leave items next to the donation door under the covered awning when the store is not opened. I thought I was being helpful, but apparently I was not because a young man opened the door, picked up the box, and stormed over to my car yelling at me and saying "OH NOOOOOO!!!! NO NO NO NO MA'AM!! YOU WILL NOT JUST DUMP YOUR ITEMS HERE. YOU TAKE THEM BACK. WE ARE CLOSED AND YOU COME BACK DURING OPEN HOURS. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO JUST DUMP YOUR STUFF HERE!!" He went on and on yelling at me and being extremely rude in a very hateful manner to me. I tried to explain to him that I didn't know I couldn't drop off my items and that some of the other locations allow that and are thankful for that. He continued to yell at me saying "YOU COME BACK DURING OPEN HOURS!!!". I was shocked by how hatefully and rude he approached me and chose to handle the communication with me. It was an honest mistake I made. I'm not only a donor of very well taken care of items, but also a customer that shops at goodwill, as well. The way this associate chose to communicate with me by yelling at me and assuming I was "just dumping my junk" was uncalled for and inexcusable. I understand he has to do his job, but there should be a mandatory customer service training class for all employees of Goodwill and guidelines on how to communicate to customers and donors, and the public in general. When I said I was just trying to be helpful and tell him he didn't have to be rude and hateful towards me, he yelled some more yelling, "I'M DOING MY JOB!! YOU WILL NOT DUMP STUFF HERE!!" Then he shoved my box of clothing back into my car and stormed off. I asked him what his name was and he refused to give it to me yelling, "YOU DONT NEED TO KNOW MY NAME!! YOU DONT NEED TO KNOW MY NAME!!" and then he stormed back into the store and locked the door. I understand now that maybe they deal with people just dumping their unwanted items often at their donation door during closed hours and that it Agitates them immensely by the way he acted and treated me as a human being and donor. He should be taught proper customer service skills and dealing with the customer/public in a very productive and professional manner if he's an employee at their store. The way this young man chose to encounter me and hatefully yell at me for making an honest mistake was unacceptable and an employee that does something like that should be reprimanded and taught proper customer service skills going forward. After all, he's the only representative of this company that I came in contact with and he showed me that this Goodwill is one I never want to go back to ever again because of how hateful the employee was to me, and I probably won't go back to any Goodwill to donate or shop anymore. Employees should never be allowed to act the way he did. It was uncalled for and unappreciated. I was just trying to be helpful and didn't realize that I was making a mistake. From now on I'll donate my items to the Salvation Army and other Thrift Stores, instead of Goodwill since they do not want or appreciate my act of giving. I hope this young man decides to handle situations in a better and more professional manner in the future.

While this store is organized pretty well, there are no prices posted and fitting rooms do not exist. We stood outside waiting for the doors to open 15 minutes after the posted time. Drive a mile or two down the road and shop Value World instead. We spent half as much money there and got better quality items.
