I’ve now had issues with my two previous rentals. This most recent time I was in an accident with my personal vehicle and needed a rental. I rented a car and prepaid for it, not knowing what would happen with my personal car or how long it would take. It subsequently took insurance 3 days to total the car out, which meant I had to return the rental. Avis has now said because I prepaid for the rental they cannot refund the $1395.05 because I returned the car early. I will not be renting from Avis again unless this issue is resolved. And definitely would not recommend.RESPONSE TO AVIS REPLY: Again that wasn’t explained when it was prepaid for. The “blue ink” is something that was printed after the fact so in hindsight does me no good. I’ve rented from Avis multiple times before and never had this issue so my fault maybe…. But again I would like to reiterate I was in an accident, between insurances both auto and medical, there are a lot of things that are up in the air. So at the end of the day Avis may not care, and they can simply say “read your contract” but I’m out of $1395 because I prepaid to have some peace of mind seems a little unjust.

Avis/Budget was very respectful and assisted me in getting the right vehicle for an urgent trip out of town. The vehicle chosen was very compatible to the needs of the trip. The prices are very budget friendly and the plans are to what I needed. Thank you Avis for all your great work.

We rented from the Mesquite, TX location, off Galloway. When you get there be ready for a wait, they are ALWAYS bust. But the two ladies in there are always moving and working helping as fast as they can. They are extremely courteous and friendly. If you rent from them, be ready for a wait but you will get amazing customer service.

I honestly wouldn't be rental car anymore unless I really have to. All the rules are garbage and changing to take advantage of the users. It's ridiculous that they have a key drop box but they won't allow us to return the car after the place is closed. If I rent a car at 4pm there is no reason I should rush to return the car at 12 pm because the location is closed. I even give them option to return it to another place that is opened but there will be an extra charge.Also I was late in picking it up and the guy told me they don't have the car I reserved so I was forced to take another car for extra charge.

Service was beyond awful — took 2 hours to pick up car, with employees not working, and those that were consistently served customers who had not waited in line. Seemed like there was 0 management occurring, this is easily my worst rental experience to date.Update: The manager called me shortly after leaving this review, and without apology, insulted my fiance for almost starting a fight — one of the customers was blasting music with her phone, and after we requested she turn it down, she threatened to beat up my fiance. The manager took no accountability, and continued to threaten me by saying not to return to her location (dropping off at the airport thankfully). Avoid this location and its staff at all costs, it is a toxic environment with no regard for customer satisfaction or wellbeing. A disgrace to Avis locations everywhere!

Horrendous experience, avoid renting a car from here!My fiance and I had a reservation for a car rental today. We showed up and waited an hour and a half to get the car. The entire place was extremely understaffed and poorly managed. A lady in the waiting room was listening to videos on her phone very loudly and I politely and kindly asked her if she would be willing to turn the volume down, as I had a headache. She started cursing and screaming at me and threatening to assault me for approximately half an hour. In response, a staff member brought me and her each a bottle of water and granola bar. Once we finally got our rental car, he looked at me and said “Good thing I fixed everything.” He thought by giving us water and a snack like children, everything was resolved. It was very weird and an odd experience.My fiance decided to write a review about this and he then received a very disrespectful call from the owner, yelling at him and telling him that we were 20 minutes late to our reservation so it was our fault, and that I had tried causing a fight in the waiting room. She wasn’t even at the location that day and was reacting on word of mouth. She then told my fiance to never rent a car from her again. It was so rude and unprofessional and appalling. The entire Avis corporation should shut this location down and no one should rent from here.

Avis - specifically this location has the absolute best people. Their customer service should be the standard that all other Avis locations go by. I live closer to other Avis locations, and have tried those at least once. I learned my lesson and make the 30 minute drive to the Mesquite location every single time, and I count myself incredibly fortunate that this location exists.

I must say, it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I strongly advise anyone reading this to steer clear of this company if you value your time, money, and sanity.First and foremost, the customer service was abysmal. The staff at the counter were completely unprofessional and lacked any basic knowledge about their own policies and procedures. They seemed disinterested and disengaged, making the whole process feel like a burden rather than a service.The condition of the rental car was simply appalling. It was dirty both inside and out, with visible stains on the seats and an unpleasant odor that lingered throughout the entire trip. It was clear that the vehicle had not been properly cleaned or maintained. This lack of care and attention to detail is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.To make matters worse, the car broke down in the middle of my journey, leaving me stranded on the side of the road for hours. Despite calling their emergency hotline multiple times, I received no assistance whatsoever. Customer service sucks at Mesquite location. Like going to free clinic.See below response from owner, totally unprofessional, like is said Customer Service Sucks! At this location. I love this location. Every time I have ever needed a rental, the staff has taken wonderful care of me. The owner is extremely nice and goes above and beyond for his customers. I recommend this location to anyone looking for a rental. 10/10.
