Last year American forensics performed an autopsy of my family member. The report is filled with typos and inaccurate information. They age of the deceased is incorrect multiple times. Another typo says foot and should say head. Either they didn’t proof read or they used a template to generate the report. The conclusion of the report does not support the actual contents of the report that they created. So we called to discuss the autopsy with them. They were supportive at first and gave a date to call back to discuss the report with the chief pathologist. Thy said that as long as a next of kin was there, they could review it. Called back and they said that we need to email exactly what we needed to discuss. They wouldn’t even give the chief pathologists name. They would only give the name “dr G”. We later found the chief pathologist to be dr Amy Gruszecki. Why they wouldn’t give the name, I don’t know. But they said they don’t schedule calls for her and she manages her own calendar so ask her to schedule it in the email. We emailed detailing exactly what was wrong with the autopsy. We received an immediate email response from the ceo, David leaving, saying that we need an attorney for them to speak with us and that this is a consultation and the rate is $500 and hour with and initial $1000 payment. He basically said that they don’t work for free, even though they have already been paid. They have already been paid for the autopsy. They are asking for additional funds to fix what they messed up . So I called back after the email and they were no longer nice on the phone and refused to let us talk to the chief pathologist. I do not recommend this company at all. They provide a horrible service and do not support their own work. Look for a company with better customer service, quality work, and accurate work.

Excellent Service! Thank you Pathologists and Staff. This facility is clean and accredited (yes that matters). When I needed them they were there. They explained the process and gave realistic expectations. I am very impressed by the report and what they are able to prove and so was my family attorney. She warned me about non board certified doctors and non accredited facilities. American Forensics is the real deal!

I didn’t want to do this review until I spoke to someone at the facility first. I have changed my mind, this needs to be said. I have waited for a year and 5 months for a report of why my 18 y/o daughters heart stopped. When she passed I was informed there must be an autopsy done because of her age. Myself and her siblings all agreed. We were not given a choice of where she would be sent. We were told of another location but come to find out she was not sent there. But the person there told me to check with JOP listed on death certificate. That’s how I found it had been performed at American Forensics. The secretary at the JOP sent me a copy. Why I never received one is beyond me. My daughter was 18 and I’m her mother and NOONE bothered to inform me about any of their findings. But after reading her autopsy report I’m not sure if they even examined my daughter or was it someone else??? The woman they examined was 19, had no ear piercing and No tattoos. My daughter was 18, had ear piercings and a tattoo. If it was my daughter those are 3 things that anyone should be able to see without cutting and examining.... if this was my daughter and those 3 things were missed. Then why would I trust any other part of this so called autopsy. Someone needs to get in touch with me right away.###### UPDATE!II know it didn’t take American Forensics that long I’m sorry. It took that long for me to receive any results. I apologize for letting my emotions get the best of me. I did email the jop and they told me they didn’t know why American Forensics had her age and other details wrong. She told me I needed to talk to American Forensics. I will contact them again. I will be sending a request form for her full report. It’s just very heartbreaking. But I do understand a little better about why I didn’t get a report.

I had a great experience with everyone involved. They answered the phone every time I called. Once I made the payment they started working on it immediately. They had the autopsy done and the body returned to the funeral home several days before the deadline I was quoted. The pathologist called me personally to discuss the findings and I had the preliminary results emailed to me by the end of that day! Very satisfied.

This place is ridiculously slow in providing autopsy information needed for a death certificate. Their excuse is COVID. My husband passed away before the 2nd wave of COVID hit this summer. It has been over 9 weeks and they do not care. Their attitudes are horrible and their response is that they have 90 days. Just because you have 90 days doesn't mean you need to take 90 days. I feel bad for people who need money to pay bills, pay for funeral service, handle financial matters etc and are unable to do so because of American Forensics delay. By all means, if you have a choice for an autopsy, go elsewhere. Don't have your loved one transported to this place in Mesquite.

Would not recommend I paid $2,800 for a private autopsy For my mother in March 2021. The first red flag was they sent my mother to the wrong Funeral home after I completed the paper work and told them the address to send my mother to after the autopsy. A Careless mistakes such as not reading the paperwork is very vital when it comes to doing a autopsy. They did go back and pick my mother up and take her to the correct location. As of today 08/20/2021 I never got a follow up call from the company since March 22,2021 to update me on the status of my mother autopsy today i decided to call them and was told they will see about getting me a update. I personally don’t fell like a business should be ran like this seem more like they focus on taking $2800 and not on the quality of work provided or customer service. My mother body was messed up too even after my effort to make sure her body was in presentable condition. I prepared my mother body from the hospital cleaned up blood placed Medical gauzes in her mouth to keep her lips from being twisted straighten her hands and made sure her feet was in hospital boots so they didn’t bend. The way they shaved my mother hair was unacceptable and forced me to have to buy a wig instead of washing her hair and fixing her hair so that she could look like her self… so way your option after paying i regretted it good thing I was hands on and with my mother over 98% of the time and I’m fully aware my mother aspirated from throwing up and having a tube down her throat and the staff refusing to doing a scan to see where the throw up was coming from Which could have saved my mother’s life

My husband was a first responder and was 6 weeks post Covid Recovery and in Rehab and sent back to Methodist Central Hospital for treatment and Dr. Patel had injured my husband fatally. We requested for Methodist Hospital MD Examiner through Chaplain to do an autopsy but they refused stating he passed due to complications which we know are untrue.I contacted American Forensics and we are having my husband's death investigated by local law enforcement.Thank God for Dr. G and her compassionate team at American Forensics to give us all the facts into my Husband's death who we now know was due to medical negligence.

Original coment: No stars. Avoid this place like its Covid.New comment: Allow me to clarify, since I am apparently not a real person. I called three times, roughly four or five days ago, before I got through to talk to someone and when I did finally talk to one of their representatives the individual came off as impatient and not particularly helpful. If my business isn't welcome that's fine but my review is valid. I dont not want any money from you and you most certainly wont be having any of mine. I'm sorry my first comment was short, I've been having a tough time but it was warranted.

This facility was so kind and professional to my family. A judge court ordered an autopsy due to a fatal car incident. The staff was very comforting and gave me step by step instructions on the process required to bring my aunt home to her son.

I wish there was a way I could give this piece of garbage facility a negative five stars. They completely ruined my uncle’s body as if he were some sort of experiment. They didn’t even refrigerate him according to what the receiving funeral home told me. And according to other sources this is the third complaint against this facility in the last six weeks. I promise you I am not letting this slide and you will pay for the poor and botched job performed on my uncle. I am filing a complaint with the State of Texas and every governing board affiliated with this pathetic company.
