At first it wasn't as bad but has steadily declined to the point where I felt the need to warn others. They will very often skip feeding your horse the requested grain, several of the dry lots are a swampy mess with even a small amount of rain, and the hay they get fed is something that really no animal would choose to eat. Boarding prices got raised and we were told it was to get better quality hay. That did not happen and in fact the quality only got worse. There is not a lot of horsemanship going on amongst the boarders and all of the facilities are on top of each other and it gets CROWDED on busy days. After having put up with the state of things for nearly 2 years, when the hay got to the point of these pictures I decided that I would be moving my horse. Not only did it look awful, was filled with weeds, small saplings, and big thorns but it smelled horribly mildewed. And this was not the first time just the worst of it. I sincerely hope that things improve and they can really work hard on taking better care of the horses. Please be cautious if you would like to board with them and stay on top of checking feed and hay.

Never buy a horse off this ranch! They took advantage of a friend of mine (she doesn't know much about horses) their son sold her a horse that is lame & lied about it's age lied about him being gentle with dog's. Finally was sent the coggins by email, by the date on the coggins the ranch bought the horse a month before at a sale barn. Not to mention the son said he was a Christian wow way to go showing the love of Jesus by ripping someone off. He agreed to pickup the horse and refund her money but weeks went by and nothing.They won't pick up the phone to make this right. Thumbs down ??????

I am not a horse owner, however, I get to visit the Kiefer Ranch with family members who do board horses. My experiences at the Ranch has resulted in me considering this place much much more of a "horse lovers community" than a ranch or just boarding. Mark Kiefer is extremely diligent about the health, safety, and happiness of the horses but more importantly he builds a community of respect, responsibility, and joy for their human companions. If you are a parent or grandparent searching for the best environment for your family or friends, go straight to the KIefer Ranch. He is a very caring expert in selection, care, and training of horses for any age.
