“Our annual exam with Dr. Jaxson and Vet tech (Elma?) was the best experience. Dr. Jackson was SO thorough and patient and kind! It was so refreshing to find compassionate vet care here in McKinney. The clinic itself was clean and spacious, modern and comfortable. I am genuinely so happy to have found such a caring team for my dog.”

“Best clinic ever! I started taking my 14 year old weenie dog Tucker there on a recommendation from someone. As Tucker grew older and, aside from annual checkups, they started treating him for his dental and osteoarthritis, which made a big difference. Two years later the initial medication began to lose its effects so they prescribed several more medications. As Tucker's body just grew older they offered several other treatments. They really went over-the-top trying to keep Tucker healthy. As Tucker neared 17 years old his body just started wearing out. Doctors Schoch and Connor and their staff Taylor, Rebecca, Zach, Cortney, and New York were always there anytime I needed to call and ask questions about Tucker's issues. Sadly, this past Monday we lost Tucker. All of the doctors and staff were empathetic and compassionate. They allowed me however long I wanted to say goodbye to my buddy, never rushing me. All of the staff made a point to come into the room to offer condolences and to say goodbye to Tucker. Dr. Connor was the one who was going to perform the procedure, but Dr. Schoch went out of her way performing another procedure to come into the room to say goodbye. A week later I brought Tucker back home after being cremated. When I got home I found that they had made a plaster mold of Tucker's paw and they had taken prints of his paw and nose. They also kept a lock of his hair. They did that on their own as it was not my request which was very caring. They also gave me a card on which every staff member wrote some very nice things about me and Tucker. I can't speak highly enough for everyone at this clinic and their care for Tucker and me. Should I ever get another dog I would definitely let this clinic care for him.”

“Our new dog Benji loves this place and loves Dr. Thomson. We have been really happy with the consultation since he is HW+ and they don't just push doing the injections which would likely be deadly for him since he is not a dog you can keep calm easily. We appreciate the fact they laid out the options and discussed with us the best course of action based on his activity level and his age. We will continue our care with Dr. Thomson going forward. She's really AMAZING!”

Dr. Bobo is wise, but also practical and goes for the root of the problem when needed, or will prescribe a med if it can be convenient and effective for the animal.”

“On our hardest day as pet parents, they were so kind and patient. We came home to find our dog Pepper unable to stand. I called ahead, explained the situation, and they were able to see her. After hours on a Friday, we said goodbye to a member of our family that was with us for over 10 years. The staff took care of us: our dog, myself, my husband, and our daughters (3 and 5 years old). We were all able to say goodbye, and make an end of life plan that was the most humane for the whole family.
We had never been here before, and when I saw the state our oldest dog was in, I immediately looked for the closest pet hospital that was open and called ahead. I really cannot say enough about the wonderful staff for their honesty and compassion. They spent time and made this hard decision as manageable as they could, and we had just met them.”

“I just want to say what an incredible vet they are compared to others in Collin county. A nearby ER vet claimed our vomiting but vaccinated 3-month-old puppy had Parvo and was going to die even though he was walking, had no fever, and no bloody stool, suggested $7k in treatment. King Vet kept him overnight with IV fluids and he was eating and happy the next day. It was just a stomach flu, not Parvo. Tiny fraction of the cost. King Vet has way more experience and ethics. Call King Vet for an appointment (You must have an appointment, this isn't ER)”

“Dr. Reno is a ROCK STAR!!? We love her and her team! Our Chocolate Lab, Delaney, has always been so well taken care of-particularly in surgery!! That is always the scary part, but Doc Reno is excellent, and always follows up to see if your baby is doing ok. Also, when we lost one of our little dogs, she was so compassionate-sending a beautiful card with our dog’s footprint. We highly recommend Virginia Parkway Pet Hospital! “Incredible people doing extraordinary things. Our Doberman underwent emergency surgery at his regular veterinarian's office, and we elected to bring him to MEVC for overnight observation before bringing him home the next day. What should have been a straightforward surgery resulted in complications we never expected. The doctor at MEVC that night gave us a call to let us know our boy was dealing with an acute kidney injury resulting from anesthesia. He spent over a week in MEVC's care and then had multiple follow-up visits over the course of the next week before we could get an appointment scheduled with a critical care doctor in Dallas. What we experienced in our time at MEVC was truly special. Every single person we spoke with over the course of the last couple of weeks made time to talk with us and ensure they answered every question we had, genuinely empathized with us, and understood what we were feeling. We were able to call any time, day or night, and get an update on our boy's status. When we'd come to visit in the evenings, they allowed us as much time with him as they possibly could. Most important of all, however, is that they genuinely cared for him - medically and emotionally. He spent so long in their care, I think we had an opportunity to work with just about every one of their doctors - and every one of them took time to carefully explain what his test results meant, what treatment options existed, and how he was responding to treatment. The techs ensured he was comfortable, providing him with extra blankets to "nest" in when we told them he likes to burrow under blankets to sleep. They spent time with him, talking to and bonding with him. We know this because we literally watched it happen and can see the connection he formed with them. They made sure he never felt abandoned and showed him the same care and love that we give him at home. I am grateful we discovered this place, and grateful to every individual that works there!”
