I was in this shop today with a couple of girlfriends. We strolled around and picked out items we wanted to purchase on our way out. After we looking around, we sat on one of the sofas and chatted. (I’m am pregnant and needed to get off my feet for a second.) The owner came up and very sarcastically asked us “what we were doing...” She was incredibly passive aggressive and derogatory. I understand she needed to sell furniture but there are a million kinder ways to communicate this. I can honestly say I’ve never been spoken to in this manner as a customer.
I actively shop at the nearby local stores and bring my friends and family as well (we’re all avid shoppers). Unfortunately one really bad experience can leave a bad taste in your mouth for quite a while. Especially when it’s coming from the owner of an establishment. Needless to say, I won’t be back and will be pointing my friends and family to also shop elsewhere.
I would have given one star, but the girl behind the desk was super sweet and helpful. It’s unfortunate she isn’t the owner.

Helpful!!!!!! My first home and these ladies are helping so much!!! I stopped by one day after work just to look around. I began to share my ideas and the rest is history. The next day I came in, they shared ideas that they had researched "just for me" for another space I need to fill as well. I am doing room by room in my new home and these ladies are amazing!

We had a fire at our home in 2021. The house was a total loss. As we were buying new things to put in our new home we discovered Uptown. We just wandered in one day while shopping in downtown McKinney. There were so many things that we liked that Uptown has become our go-to furniture and accessories store. The staff goes out of their way to find what you are looking for and they are incredibly kind people. We love unique things in our home and we love doing business with local businesses - Uptown is the best of both.

Wow! I had chosen some wax melts and was continuing to browse around the store with my family. An associate asked if she could take them to the counter, which I said yes and I gave them to her. We continued looking and another associate came around me and said “can I take those melts to the counter?”. I didn’t have them as I had already given them to the other associate. Extremely unprofessional and rude to basically accuse someone shopping of shoplifting.

When asked if the price was negotiable on a $800 painting the lady told me, “this isn’t a garage sale” same person threw a fit because we asked to use the restroom and her employee said yes.

Fantastic store on the square. Stilled in one ebbing and del in love with a bunch of items. Just bought gold wings (next door same wings were $700 more ). We went back the following day to buy them all. They delivered everything to my home 1 day later. Very on trend. A must visit. The owner Linda is fantastic.

Uptown Furniture was a nice experience and night and day difference from the big box Furniture stores. Today, most Furniture stores inform you that it's a 6 to 8 week time frame until you will receive your Furniture. At Uptown, in most cases, you will receive your items in 48 hours. If you have a truck, you can take your items that very day. I also like the selection. They owner is very smart, she buys pieces from every facets of the industry. Minimalist, Contemporary, to Modern. They have something for everyone:) Overall, it was an wonderful experience.

We stopped by to check out the furniture. One of the store employees came over and said, “You don’t have to wear masks in here”. She didn’t say “Hello, Welcome, How are You”, she was not pleasant and this made our visit very sour. We just got vaccinated so it is our choice to continue to wear masks until we feel safe not wearing them. We will not purchase anything from this store. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.

Went in to look around and the ladies behind the counter were watching videos on the phone.. no big deal however when they asked if we needed help we said no we are just looking around- to which they promptly mocked back “just looking around” at us. Apparently if you don’t look like you have a ton of money it’s nothing ok. I have bought from here prior but never will again.. not a penny. Customer service is not a part of their gig if you don’t fit their expectations. I will continue to support local elsewhere.
