I’d like to give a special thanks to Collin County Adoptable Pets in McKinney Tx and staff for loving and taking such great care of Juke prior to us adopting him. I forgot the officers name there, but he undoubtly took time to show Juke love and care whilst waiting for his new family. This is a ESA for my better half, however never did I thought was in deed of one just as much as she was. For all those amazing ppl who were rooting for Juke, just know with sound mind and hearts he has definitely found his forever home filled with unconditional love. If anyone is in need of or know who is need of a good animal waiting for their forever home and are in the Collin county area. Please give these wonderful folks and their animals consideration. We could not be more happy. Hands down I give this facility and five stars for their world class customer service and professionalism.

Unfortunately, my experience mirrors what Emily went through. Over the course of two weeks, we had our eye on a kitten at the local animal shelter, where we frequently drop off donations. We were initially told the kitten had ringworm, although there were no visible signs, so we patiently waited for treatment. When we returned two weeks later with more donations, the kitten was still in the same cage, and once again, we were told it still had ringworm. We asked when it would be available for adoption, and the answer was a vague “we don’t know.”
A few minutes after leaving, we decided to turn around and return to the shelter for more clarity. When we asked the same staff member (a woman with black hair and many tattoos), she repeated the same line, that they didn’t know. But then another staff member, Molly, overheard the conversation and asked if we were referring to the Siamese kitten (which we hadn’t known it was). The original staff member confirmed, but Molly then revealed the kitten was being placed into foster care, to which the first staff member immediately scolded her, saying, “We’re not supposed to tell them when they’re going to foster, euthanize, or be adopted.” Molly apologized, saying she didn’t know.
As it turned out, the woman standing beside us was from the foster organization, yet she remained silent through the entire interaction. Molly then whispered with other staff members in the back and then with the original staff member at the counter. It all seemed very secretive. After the whispering, the original staff member signaled that Molly could now explain since we knew about the kitten going to a foster.
The foster lady then left with the kitten we had been waiting to adopt. Molly explained that the kitten may show up on the website or might never be listed on the website and could be kept by the foster or given to a rescue. She offered her email and said that if we contacted her first, there would be a high chance we could adopt the kitten. We immediately emailed her. In her response, she simply stated, “Like I said earlier, your best bet is to keep checking the website in the next few weeks.”
In my reply to her, I reminded her that she had specifically offered her email and encouraged us to follow up. I also pointed out that none of the kittens we saw at the shelter were listed on the website, none of them. There were inconsistencies in what we were being told.
Today, I checked the website again. While there are kittens listed, the one we were interested in was not among them.
I don’t believe CCAS is necessarily a bad organization, but something feels off. While I can’t pinpoint what exactly, there is a definite lack of transparency. Like Emily, I am left feeling heartbroken and misled. I was in tears yesterday, and I’m still very emotional today.
After reflecting on this experience, I’ve also decided to stop donating to this shelter directly. While I’ve always given from the heart, I can no longer do so when I feel deceived. I’ll be directing my donations to other organizations that I believe are more transparent and trustworthy.
This review isn’t intended to dissuade anyone from adopting. If you see an animal there and can provide a loving home, please don’t let the dishonesty of certain staff members stop you from saving a life. However, be aware that some staff may not be upfront or honest about the process. This is likely the same experience Emily went through.
In hindsight, I would advise anyone finding a stray to get the chip scanned at a veterinary clinic. If the animal is unchipped, and you’re ready to provide a loving home, keep the pet and give it the care it deserves.

My experience was terrible here. If you show an animal compassion and feed it before you capture it they won't take it. Worker was rude said since I fed the stray kitten and gave it a flea pill it was now mine and not considered a stray even though it still acts wild and hisses. Bottom line don't show compassion for animals and take care of their basic needs or they won't take it!

The lady at the desk attitude gets in the way of her helping the Animals she rather argue than give the dog a home Or help find a solution to better the dog.
