The staff is very friendly and always gets us in asap! They have accommodated our dog as at first she was very timid and scared but now she feels right at home and loves everyone there!

I have been coming for 1 1/2 years for treatment for my dog. All staff have been kind and attentive to my dog's needs and always communicate with me about what treatment options would work best for him and pricing. Thank you for taking care of us!

Good veterinarians. There are several and they seem to all work part time so it can be hard to see the one you prefer. You must always make an appointment and they do not take emergencies, even for established patients. The vet techs are caring and knowledgeable. They offer boarding although I have not needed to use it.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!
They nickel and dime you to death.
Vets are horrible and bait and switch you.
The managers are snarky and just trying to take as much money as they can.
Horrible experience here.

Animal Medical Center of McKinney is the only place I will.go with my furry family. Ruth, my fiesty cat, is always a trouble maker. They take great care of her. From the front desk to the assistants on the back sidelines, they always make us feel like we are family. We thank you for taking care of Ruth, soon you'll meet our newest addition! Dr. Hickman and the staff at Animal Medical Center McKinney are WONDERFUL! We went to 3 different veterinarians before selecting AMC-McKinney to care for our "furry babies." Dr. Hickman and his staff DO NOT "up sell" their services or products. They DO NOT instill fear regarding treatments. The staff outlines a treatment plan and offers options. There are no hidden costs and surprises like we experienced at other veterinarian offices in McKinney. Their grooming services are also FABULOUS!

I'm writing this from a place of hurt, so it's possible I'm just angry.
My cat died 3 days ago and I've been reflecting over how it came to this. I've had him for over 8 years. Everyday I come home and all he ever wants to do is sit next to me or be carried around by me. Although it was frustrating and inconvenient at times, now my home is silent and empty when I expect to hear him walking around the corner, purring with excitement to greet me.
I took my cat to this clinic in January 2024. They said he was mostly fine. I took him because he was losing alot of weight and he threw up from time to time after eating. I did my due diligence to mitigate those symptoms and I was hoping the clinic would give me some thorough advice only to be told he was fine. I was tasked to provide a sample of his stool to find out more. A few weeks later, I was contacted to find out there were no issues with his stool. A couple weeks later after that, they called back saying there was a mixup and that maybe he had worms. I gave him the medication they provided and that was that.
Fast forward to April and he remained the same. My wife points out one night that he had some "dry rice" stuck to his fur around the base of his tail. Possibly worms. His weightloss started to make sense since we fed him and fed him and he still managed to lose weight. I planned to take him back to the clinic at the next opportunity but instead, I found him unconscious and stiff one morning on his favorite blanket two days later. I blame myself for not taking him sooner but I can't help but think that this clinic dropped the ball on this. That small mixup makes me think "if they messed up on this, what else could they have missed?"
Based off other reviews, they seem to be doing good work but now I wish I would have gotten a second opinion. But this is just one guy's experience.

Dr. Rippy was thorough and patient while giving my cat his annual exam. She answered my questions and took adequate time to listen and advise. I was very impressed with my experience that day. Thank you!
