Rooms: Beds were small, the size was probably a full size.

I travel to the RGV almost every month for a few days. I have stayed at the DT for over 10 years and have been treated like a king every time. From the front desk to the bar tenders to the managers, everyone is very polite and helpful. This is an older hotel, but it is clean and has everything you need to feel at home. I have said many times the food is way better than is should be!
Safety: This hotel is frequented by several different military agencies who are there in support of border security. There is no safer hotel in McAllen!

Nobody from my company will be staying at this hotel in the future. It has been flagged. Fire Alarm started chirping at 2:30AM. Called front desk. No solution offered. Called agin at 3:30 and ask for another room. Given a downgraded room. Next morning asked for refund or points and none offered. Was told Manager would call me. No call received. Called and left voicemail. No return call. Smelly, outdated, and stained sheets and towels doesn't help either. Canceled night #2 and went to a Marriott. I'm now a loyal Marroitt customer.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, but not much to walk to nearby.
Safety: I felt very safe.
Walkability: It’s walkable, but not much nearby. Hospital and airport.
Food and drinks: Bar, restaurant, and room service available. Free cookie checking in.

Walked in with my GF to a nice ? welcome
Replied to the welcome message they said they would honor an extra night some other time
They stopped responding and never heard back
Double trees are usually the nicer ones for Hilton but this is an old building with a ?problem. Wouldn’t recommend

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at along the southern US. The buffet for breakfast was amazing. The service was top notch. The front desk was very helpful. Housekeeping was a great team. The dining staff were great people. The only thing that sparked confusion is that the dumbells would disappear like where did the 15 and 20 pound weights go. I hope they fix the issue of weights being taken because they have the rest of the set.

Breakfast-American and Mexican style; staff is great; free cookies offered daily; free bottled water; single washer and single dryer to wash clothes; room service is good, but does include a fee and gratuity; bar drinks...so so...recommend beers instead; printing services also available; wifi is good; store has snacks and other items for sale; ac in room works great; water in shower in some rooms takes 5 minutes to get hot; beds are comfy; some refrigerators in some rooms don't work and freeze food; recommend you look at floor plan to avoid trees with birds that wake you up early in the morning; covered garage available for parking; shuttle to and from airport available also.

I come to double tree on a monthly basis, and it never fails how wonderful and delicious the food is. I also need to comment on how clean the restrooms are every time I’m here without fail. Definitely deserves all 5 stars !

Great breakfast and dinner. Just 5 minutes from the airport.
Rooms: Great spacious 2 room suites. Large screen LED TVs in both rooms.
Nearby activities: All the name brand restaurants are nearby.
Food and drinks: Excellent breakfast buffet and tasty dinner options.

I am a local resident and have used Double Tree for staycations and work holiday parties. The rooms and service are excellent. We've never had any issues there and would highly recommend their location to everyone.
