‼️ -OUR SCAM EXPERIENCE ‼️The experience was a waste of time, went for a transmission check up paid $50 for that, they call back with a $370 rate for tech work which became $1,900 plus by the end of the week.(OKAY, ASSUMING YOU WOULD ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM).After they called to say it was ready we picked the vehicle up and Drove it home less than 20 miles. We let It sit for a few days and found a red puddle in our driveway within the same week.Note -IT WAS NOT LEAKING ANY FLUID BEFORE TAKING IT TO THIS PLACE. We end up taking it back to them and explain the situation and they would want us to start the process all over again $50 to look at it. Why would we allow them to screw us out of another 2grand.? This is insanity; they, really need to stand behind their work. If you cannot fix it just say so up front. They do NOT warranty their work. This is NOT how you do business, honestly worst experience ever. The vehicle is in worse shape after visiting this place. You get zero stars, will never recommend to others.Continued as per responseIt’s ok, please continue to do business as your are doing. Unfortunately, people will find out the hard way.Service: Transmission

Worst experience ever. Vehicle is in worse condition after taking it to that place. $500 for a wiring harness? Really ? For two hundred dollars an hour. Go to the dealer. At least they will stand behind their product.

I was having problems with my car changing gears. The Aamco persons were very helpful and explained everything before repairing anything. Thank you AAMCO I will count on you for future car problems. Many companies do not explain and just do the work prior to letting customer know.

If I could give 0 stars I would ! Went in because my vehicle was stalling at start up but would drive normally after 10 sec I took it in to diagnose and now my car doesn’t move at all !!! I left from there and after 5 seconds the car stopped moving and I’m left stranded on side of the road. I call to ask what may have caused this if there’s nothing I can do and they Say it’s out of their hands and they don’t now what else to tell me. Excuse me ??? It was Atleast drivable before I took it in and now it doesn’t move at all. Never go here !!

DONT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! They are the worst! We paid to have our truck accessed to find out where it had a leak. we were given a report saying it was leaking from the main seal and we told it would be $1200 to replace the seal. After 4 days of them not calling us, we went by. it had apparently been done. We paid and two days later we noticed it was still leaking oil. went back and were told they'd check it again. They said the leak was now from the motor and that we had to take it to another mechanic. Ridiculous! Why did we pay to have it checked and told they knew specifically where it was leaking from! After paying them $1200 and still having it leak! They are thieves! And con artists. Do not go there!

From the moment I stepped foot inside the McAllen location I was treated with respect especially for a young female who does not know a lot about cars and gets taken advantage of at most dealerships. Originally took my car to ford for transmission issues on my 2018 ford escape and was quoted $6000 for new transmission or trade in my vehicle. Went to AAMCO and they told me otherwise and were able to fix my car for a few hundred dollars. I’ve had some other issues with my vehicle since then but have been going back to AAMCO and Randy and his team continue to provide excellent customer service and communicate with me about everything. No sugar coating. They are honest and upfront and provide the best deals. Luis at the front desk always answers my calls and updates me on my vehicle in a timely manner and is polite and courteous to not just me but every customer that walks through the door that I see him interact with. Needless to say I will be coming back to this location as needed for all my car needs from now on hopefully not too much. Somebody give Randy, Luis and all the technicans at AAMCO in McAllen a raise!

I took my transmission to get fixed and continued to have problems with it less than a block away. I went right back and told them that I was still having the same problem as before. I was told to leave my vehicle there to be worked on and I did so. When I was called that my vehicle's transmission was fixed I went to pick it up for the second time. This time I was able to drive a few blocks but again I started having issues my transmission. I went back for a 3rd time and again I was told to leave my vehicle there. I left it for the 3rd time. A few weeks later I was told my vehicle was fixed and I needed to pick it up. This time I was able to drive it home but the very next day the transmission problem persisted. I called them again and this time they informed me that they were not going to work on my transmission any longer. I filed a report with the BBB but I was not able to recover my $2500. So would I recommend them?? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

I was referred here because my car was having transmission issues. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND GOING HERE. They were polite and professional, but I was not happy that I wasn't given any other options to possibly fix my transmission issues.I was told that just to diagnose it was going to cost around $54 dollars which I understand they need to connect to the computer to see what the issues are. If that first check did not tell them enough, then it would be an extra $250 to check it further. Well, after the first check, they gave me an estimate with 2 options. 1. A new transmission that would cost $7,953 dollars or 2. For $1,475 dollars they could take it apart and see if they could rebuild it or if it was even worth rebuilding. They NEVER gave me any other options like maybe it needed a transmission oil change they just went straight to "you need a new transmission " and that rebuild probably wouldn't be a good idea because they could not guarantee how long it would last. As a person who doesn't know that much about car transmissions, I would like to be able to go to a place and have them be honest about what needs to be done to my car. And at least be given more options on what can be done to keep my car running and in working condition. These guys NEVER mentioned that maybe a transmission oil change might fix the issues. They NEVER asked if I had ever changed the oil they just went with the most expensive fix. Given that my car has over 100,000 miles, (after 100,000 miles they usually need the oil changed) and unfortunately, its value is equal to the fix, getting a new transmission is out of the question. In my opinion, always get a second or third opinion. I am so glad I did and now my car is working great! And it didn't cost me $7,953 dollars! SO DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE GOING WITH THE FIRST ESTIMATE! It could save you money.

Excellent experience down in The Valley. We had a battery issue due to the cold weather and needed assistance ASAP as we needed to travel back home. Luis, the Customer Service Manager, was very professional, and Sam, the technician, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable with regards to the issue of my vehicle. They were efficient with the care for our vehicle and understanding of our time constraints. Please call AAMCO Transmission & Total Car Care in McAllen if you need any car care. They will help you out. Guaranteed.

Went in last week to get the brakes replaced on my wife's vehicle. I had never been there before and I was amazed with how organized, knowledgeable, quick, and professional they were. That's hard to find now of days.Price was also not too bad. I was expecting to pay more. I was attended by a gentleman named Luis and later on by the manager Mr. Smith. In my past experiences with auto service centers, managers usually don't get involved with customers until a problem arises. And I've had my share of those moments. Believe you me. Not here. Mr. Smith made sure that my vehicle was delivered like Luis had mentioned it would be. And it was. Overall I gave 5 stars but would give more if I could. And having said that, I'm definitely making AAMCO my service provider for future repairs. Hopefully later than sooner but now I know I'm in good hands here. I highly recommend them. Make sure to ask for Luis or Mr. Smith.Service: Brakes

Went here to get a quote on transmission work. Day 1, paid ~$50 for diagnostic services. Service was completed and stated needed a deeper diagnostic check to determine cause and get a quote. Day 2 paid ~$270 for this check. After completion, get a call that I need to pay $1087 to have the transmission dropped and opened in order to get a quote of the work. Wish they could have done this upfront. Already a 1/3 of the way there. Truly felt I was being dragged along. Took my business elsewhere.Service: Transmission
