When I asked for plant stakes, the only worker in the place told me that he would have to cut them from 1 x 2's. He told me they were less than $2 each (8 foot pieces) and he would cut them for free. I had him cut 3 for me. When it came time to pay, he said they were $4 each. The owner wandered out from the back and asked what I was using the lumber for. When I told her she asked me why I didn't buy the pre-cut plant stakes that they had in stock since they were cheaper. I replied that I had been told that there were none. So I ended up paying a dollar for each plant stake that he cut. No apology, just a blank stare. Lesson well learned. It's a drive, but I'll go to Home Depot for the lumber that I need to build my storage shed. They made a few bucks by tricking me, but lost a thousand on my next project.
