I am now leaving 5 stars for this company because the owner called me personally and we came to an understanding. The main reason for 5 stars now is because it's obvious that he is interested in doing business the old fashion way and values the business of EVERY single customer that walks thru his doors. I will definitely be back and thanks again for the personal attention.

This is the nicest nursery I have seen. Every plant looked so healthy. It's worth visiting to walk around and view the beautiful trees.

“Karen and Brandon” visiting Backbone Valley Nursery is nothing as you have described. There are many customers, knowledgeable staff and beautiful plants each and every day of the week! Sorry your 2 year old did not have a “Disneyland” meet and great experience. Mary Kay IS the BACKBONE of this nursery! Great experience today at your Nursery. I'd like to compliment Parker. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me and my wife a tour of the Nursery. Our first will not be our last ! Nice variety and cost, worth the drive from Killeen. Thanks again for the hospitality Parker.

I’m not a local, but I do gift my family in Llano trees for Christmas every year. I’ve been to Backbone Valley Nursery multiple times, and each time I have had an excellent experience.
Every staff member I’ve met and worked with is remarkably friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The trees are gorgeous and clearly well-kept. The facilities are always well-maintained, and a pleasure to walk around and browse. They are a top-notch business that cares deeply about its product and customers. I’m happy to return again and again and again.
And shoutout to Bandit - the cutest staff member

Beautiful nursery with SO MANY options to choose from. Prices are pretty clearly marked. There are several carts and wagons to assist in getting plants from one place to a other.

Backbone Valley is a great local business to Marble Farms. If you're willing to drive, you can pick up healthy trees and plants at a reduced price. The people are incredibly nice and helpful. I love to walk their grounds and see the variety of greenery. They have knowledgeable employees that will answer any questions you have. Note: Selfishly, I paused before writing this review because I don't want this business to be overrun with people. That said, this business deserves to be heralded for their variety, prices and customer service. So, I highly recommend Backbone Valley Nursery for your next nursery purchase. Note: they have a Mountain Laurel Tree Farm across the street from the business.

Great selection of plants & seeds. Staff were super nice. So why 3 stars? The outdoor plant brought root-eating bugs into my house and infected my other plants You MUST isolate these outdoor grown plants for 1-2 weeks as the bugs didn't show up for a few days until I started watering. The original plant I brought back ended up with fuzzy white caterpillars and browned from the bottom up the stems. It's all but dead 3 weeks later. Now my other plants are suffering the same fate and I'm spending a lot of time killing these little bugs
