I called at 2, got a 2:30 appointment and was thrilled! I was even more thrilled with the service. This is not a modern, upscale place but they don't need to be. The technician was friendly, easy to talk to and she did a fantastic job on my pedicure. She was very meticulous and dedicated to her craft. I will definitely be going back.

my usual spot was booked up today, so i gave 1626 a call and they were able to take me immediately! MiMi gives a fantastic pedicure. she puts so much care into what she does. and she is so funny. smiling and laughing while getting a great pedicure service? sign me up. i highly recommend this cute little spot. (and i'm very particular about nail services.)

I took a lot of time to choose a manicure place because most have such mixed reviews with the bad ones highlighting serious concerns. As 1626 Nails & Spa had primarily glowing reviews, I thought I could trust it. I decided to try a dip manicure, which is quite an expense, but I didn't want my natural nails to break like they often do while I was traveling. So I carefully selected colors, but for some reason, Mimi, who I believe is the owner here, brought back different colors. They were similar enough in the pots that I didn't notice until my nails were done. She buffed my natural nails extensively with an electric file, presumably to rough them up to grab the products, but seems damaging and weakening to me. With this quick-whirring electric tool, she also cut open the skin under my finger, and it bled, but she did not comment or apologize. As it was hurting me, I pulled back and she just pulled my hand closer. A manicure doesn't look pretty with a bloody cut, which hurt for days. I'd read it's important for salons to have individual smaller containers of powder to dip each customer's nails into or the larger pots can become contaminated by bacteria, spreading infection. She dipped my fingers into the communal pot, including the one with the broken, bleeding skin just under the nail. Having customers wash hands before the manicure doesn't help much either because many folks don't wash hands effectively. When the manicure was complete, there were so many layers of product that it looked thick and bulbous, like the weight of it was pulling and shifting around my natural nails! After I paid her, she insulted something about my appearance and kept going on about it in order to try to get me to come in for another service at the salon. As if she could convince me how bad I looked, I would want to return to her to "fix" it, when I didn't even like my nails. The manicure is now off and my natural nails look horribly damaged and destroyed. This whole experience reminded me why I rarely visit nail salons and now I'm not likely to visit other ones either.

The friendliest service and best nail work. You can tell that they actually care about the work they're putting in and how their customers are taken care of. So grateful for this little spot right by my house!

I will never return to this place I went to this nail salon to get my nails done due to my go to nail salon not having any appointments. There were 2 lady’s there both very sweet and I simply asked for a pedicure and full set. I showed them what I was wanting and asked if they could do something similar to the picture and she said yes she could. I was there for 3 hours for her to simply do what she wanted with my nails and they were absolutely the worst nails I’ve ever had. When I told her it wasn’t what I asked for she acted like her English was not there!!! I paid close to 140.00 dollars for poor quality and ugly nails. Never again and I’ll be disputing the fee with my bank!! Do not agree to do something you can not do it!! And let’s not talk about my toe nails how she sat there for over a hour working on my toes digging and digging for ingrown toe nails when there was only one small one and she dug so much that I left with blood mixed in my toe nail polish and half of my toe nail gone!!

Best pedicure experience ever by Mimi, my pedicure experiences at other salons have been mediocre but Mimi really took care of me. Very clean, relaxing and friendly environment. Definitely coming back.

Very friendly staff, good prices, and good work! Very clean and basic small shop. It may not be frilly but the focus is on quality service and the gel has been good to me! They have worked around my schedule a few times and have a super convenient location right at the border of Austin and Manchaca. Highly highly recommend!Services: Acrylic nails
