As a pet parent who would do what is needed for their fur baby, I do not recommend this place. My baby was sick, parvo sick, so I took him here in hopes of the exact opposite of what happened.
First they took him back and wouldn’t let me go with him. I wouldn’t let a doctor take my human child to an exam room without me present. Why schools I have to with my pup?
Second, while they were supposed to be testing for parvo while I was waiting, listening to other dogs crying and screaming with all their might. It made me cringe. I got upset and nervous and said I was ready for him to come out now. So the vet tech comes in and says I understand you want him back in here but this is a process where the vet has to wear certain attire to make sure it is contained and since he has parvo… oh wait, did anyone come in and tell you yet that it’s that? I shook my head no. He said oh well yeah it’s parvo so we have to make sure it doesn’t spread to the others. PARVO USUALLY MEANS BIG VERY BILLS AND OR DEATH FOR DOGS. He said this with absolutely no remorse or care for my concern. He left, I started crying.
Third. The very comes in and speaks to me of hefty bills up to $20,000. I told her I literally have $40 to my name after the $330 vet bill atm for the exam and test and her concern was that for the last $40 I had, she could give him an anti nausea shot or something but that was it. COLD AND UNBELIEVABLE. I was crying at this point so I told her to just bring my dog to me.
That was enough for me.
Luckily I took him to Gosling Vet on Gosling and 99 in Spring and they saved my babies life! They saw him the very next afternoon of his diagnosis, retested him, gave him the shot, anti nausea shot and b12. He got better, then worse, so we took him back and they gave him another nausea, b12 and an antibiotic and by the grace of God, he is happy, healthy and HERE!!!

My experience was.... the tech made it better. The older tech in the room worked with me and my pricing. I really felt it when she said, "we aren't just taking care of your pet. We take care of you, too." I loved her for that. And that she did. I wish I got her name because she was our savior! Thank you for helping us ? much love and respect ?

I bring my pets here now after trying other ER's. My young dog has severe anxiety & has cluster seizures every few months. I love that they're fear-free and give her anti-anxiety meds when she hospitalizes. I know she screams in the kennel and has to be sedated sometimes. My cat is aggressive at my vet, but he does great at EPCT, plus the cat room is away from the main treatment area where dogs are kenneled.
I was referred here for my older for a splenectomy & possible transfusion. I thought I was going to have to euthanize her after xrays & bloodwork at my vet revealed blood in her abdomen and low blood count, but the doctors here assured me it was not her only option & discussed surgery. They ended up calling in a mobile surgeon for emergency surgery. Luckily it wasn't so severe she needed a blood transfusion, but she stayed for 2 days after surgery & I received picture updates from the technicians! They even sent her spleen to the lab to find out why it ruptured & check for cancer.
I also hospitalized my Shih Tzu here when she wasn't eating & vomiting. Couldn't tell on xrays if she had something stuck in her stomach, her stomach wasn't emptying even after 24hr. I had to transfer somewhere else for a scope, & transferred back after it was done because I trust them. I'll keep coming here w/ my babies. Pic I was sent of my dog after surgery, feeling good on pain meds!

This place does not care for animals, and to be honest, it doesn’t seem they care for humans either.
I would not trust this place whatsoever. In case you find an injured animal and are trying to help, do not bring it here, under any circumstances.
They will charge your card for services that were not provided and then refuse to talk to you about it once the found owner “steps up” and opts for euthanasia.
What a shameful clinic.
Bring your animals anywhere else.

This clinic was the absolute worst I have ever experienced in 50 years of having pets. Some of the staff are very kind but overall this place is SCARY! Numerous people came in to get information over a course of an hour or more. When I asked them questions I could tell that they must not communicate with each other. The worse was when the Dr. came in with a very angry and loud tone she preceded to tell me that my pup would probably not be leaving there alive. Not only did she say it once, she proceeded to yell it three times!! Which was the complete opposite of what my surgeon had said an hour and a half before that. The only reason I was using this clinic was because the surgeon was so far away from my home he thought it would be better to stay close to him the first night in case of complications. I had told every one of them that my pup is very easily overheated. They insisted that he was cold and almost in shock. When I was finally able to go back approx.. 90 minutes later, to see my boy, his kennel was extremely warm and his nose was like an old worn out tire, it was so dry. They said his temp was 99 and it should be 101 to 103. The next night I took him to a wonderful emergency clinic that took his temp, it was 99 and they said that was normal! His primary vet also said 99 is his normal temp. People in the lobby were sharing their experiences with what had happened with their pet. Bottom line is STAY AWAY if you possibly can.
To top it off they charged my credit card more than what I was told...I could go on but I think you get the general ideal that your pet may be much safer and happier somewhere else.
Going from this clinic to the VEG Veterinary Emergency Group the next night was like Motel 6 to the Ritz Carlton. The medical technology, the professionalism, the cleanliness, the staff, their core values, etc. At VEG there was no waiting and wondering in a lobby. You stay with your pet the entire time and get as involved as you like in their care. You are given a private room with a small sofa that makes into a bed. They come into the room during the night to care for your pet. You are happier and so is your pet which helps the healing process.
Response to owner's response... I was told the deposit would be the lower number on the quote sheet but to expect the higher quote depending on what needed to be done. Yes, your office did give the refund the next day when I checked out, but that does not give me access to the money then. As of today it was still not credited back. My primary vet, the surgeon, and the VEG Veterinary Emergency Group all sent numerous texts and emails to check to see how my boy was doing. I only received a phone call from your office after I posted this review and the voicemail left was about the credit. Not one word about the health of your patient. This confirms to me that your office is money focused not patient focused. Oh, I will also add that your office made my pup walk out when he was barely conscious. When I got him back to his primary vet and to VEG they had someone waiting at the door to help with bringing him in, the same with getting him back to the car. They were also kind enough to clean all of the urine that you left on him, which was quite a lot. Another sign that your office does not have a genuine concern and care for pets that other offices do. I rarely ever write negative reviews but the public needs to know when they take the love of their life to your office what they might experience...
My primary vet was shocked at the amount of pain meds that were given. Between being over so heated and the amount of numerous pain medications given, I believe it was an absolute miracle that my boy lived through his stay at Emergency Pet Care of Texas.
10/1/2024 It has been 8 days and still no credit for over charging me!
10/2/2024 I finally received my credit.

A last resort vet office. Knowledgeable but incredibly slow to actually take care of your pup! My dog came in bleeding, crying from pain and anxious. We were the ONLY ones there and it took about an hour to get an actual vet to come in. After turning those down, communicating I’ll take their recommendations to our actual vet in the morning and wanting to know how to stop the bleeding to get him through the night so my vet can take a look, they proceeded to give recommendations for everything else for the next 1.5 hours but not how to address the bleeding. The blood from my dog was all over the room floor and he continued to cry. My pup was bleeding on their floor for 2.5 hours, for a treatment that took 5 minutes. It was the most frustrating vet experience.

Avoid this place at all cost! They don't care about your pets they are only out for your money! After spending thousands here I will never go back! My dog didn't get proper treatment. Take your dogs to Enchanted oaks animal hospital! They are the kindest people and truly care about your animals and when I rushed my dog in they were on top of eveything and went far and beyond to save my dog. After going to Enchanted oaks animal hospital it's nice to know there are people out there that do it for the love of animals and not just out for your money.

This place is great and the people are nice. Remember they will see you based on how bad your pet is. Wait times can be long up to several hours and they won't know till you get there. Have patience. There are only so many pets they can handle at a time.

I'm going to have to agree with others. DO NOT SROP HERE WITH YOUR BABY. Money is what they seem to care about. $1500 'triage fee' guilt you in a time of crisis that if you don't pay it. They will have to wait to administer potentially lifesaving care. The lady at the desk has zero compassion and acring liek our existence was disturbing her. The female tech was an absolute b$@$$h. She was curt & rude when demanding, I make a decision about a DNR without any answers, which was traumatizing. Top it off with the overwhelming attitude. After being made to feel like he was on death's door, possibly needing CPR and unlimited access to my credit card by signing a form. I had to ask four separate times to see my pet after over 90 minutes. Triage doesn't take 90 minutes. If it does, you're doing it wrong. Kept saying my dog's heart rate was up, so they sedated him. Of course it was. He was anxious from being taken away from us and done who knows what to without anyone being around. In this line of work, you see people on some of their worst days. Compassion, caring and communication throughout is paramount for a successful process. I spent my career as a Paramedic, seeing people on their worst days. This is NOT how you treat patients and care for their loved ones.

Prices are far from friendly, but at least the staff was. We were admitted right away because no one was there early morning. They were nice about my dog being anxious and slightly aggressive during his exam. However, be prepared to spend quite a bit of money. X-rays and bloodwork is about a grand, so be aware of that going in. It's our pets, so places like this know how desperate people can get. All in all, I think they care and want to help.

Save yourself and your pet distress and go somewhere else that is better equipped to care for your pet with urgency.
They do not adequately staff their practice. They are corporate owned so the fees are astronomical. I brought my pet here for a swollen eye+redness+discharge from the eye and the receptionist advised it would be a few hours before my pet could be seen. I had given him OTC allergy relief, but wanted him to be seen since it was alarming.
I waited in the waiting room for hours and he was not seen by anyone. They wanted $1,200 "Triage" fee, but did not see him for hours? What is the triage fee for if you cannot even have a vet tech take his vitals or look at his face?
I eventually left after his eye swelling went down in the hours I was stuck in the waiting room for a doctor to see him. By that point it was no longer the middle of the night and my regular veterinary practice was opening so I took him there instead who promptly treated him.
The entire time I was there (5+ hours) no one took my dogs vitals, checked his face, or asked how he was. But they were sure to jump on that $1.2k "Triage" fee.
I know there is a queue of priority, and my pet was lower on the list, but the lack of concern at all or even acknowledging my pet was in distress really showed that they are $$$ first, pet second.

If I could give zero stars I would!! We took our cat in there on July 14- we felt he had had a stoke. They told us he had an inner ear infection, he was walking all over without a problem and after 1000 dollars we went home with a cat who could not walk and had no clue where he was. We confined him to a nice dog crate and that is where he wanted to stay. After all the meds, and he wasn’t any better, we took him to our regular vet. They said, he has neurological damage. Well, we tried more meds and today we had to put him down. This should have been done on July 14- I feel they just wanted our money. There was no way that cat was walking around the back and was fine - LIES!!!!
