I have adopted my last two pets here. The first one turned out to not be spayed. When I brought this to their attention the looked at me like I was crazy and didn’t want to let me adopt the second dog. The second one was adopted to me with a foreign object in her small bowel that required an emergency surgery that cost me $3000. The vet specifically stated given the decomposition of the wad of stuff in her GI tract that it most likely happened at this organization. They did not give her a rabies shot despite her being over four months old. It is recommended that this immunization be given at three months. I had to put off spaying the first dog because the intensive recovery of the second. They both came to me starved for food. Yvonne that oversees the adoptions is imperious and quite abrasive. I know that it is a no kill shelter but be aware of my heeding to you. Don’t do it.

These folks here!!!! They are PHENOMENAL. You can truly sense the love they have for animals. They're the best shelter/rescue I've ever dealt with. Julie is AWESOME!
If you're looking to adopt, PLEASE go and see them. You won't be disappointed!

We adopted a 3 year old mixed breed male dog named Martin, we changed his name to Brodie. He is awesome. We live on 6 acres and he loves to go for walks around the property and smell and whatever else he decides to do. He is such a loving dog and enjoys being snuggled up next to me or my husband while watching TV. Yes he watches TV lol. He loves his toys and his big ole soft dog bed where plays and chews those toys when we are home. At night he sleeps in his kennel. We took him to our deer camp and he really LOVED it there. He got to ride in the cart and feel the breeze on his face. We went to AAR to visit a smaller dog, our plan was to adopt a smaller dog, well that dog was walking out as we were walking in. The volunteer suggested we meet two other dogs and we did, one was Martin/Brodie. So here we are. It was a very good decision to adopt him. Everyone that meets him loves him. Thank you AAR for making this adoption process so very enjoyable. We love our Brodie!

Seriously I can’t believe how awesome the experience was, super prompt responses, everything was smooth when we went to meet the pup we were looking for, the whole process went smooth and now we have a new best friend living with us! Thank you all!!

Just adopted my first kitty from them. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I also liked that they allowed us to play with the cats before. The cats also all come spayed/neutered and chipped. Finally when we picked our new baby Highland we were sent with food, litter, toys, and a cardboard carrier. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a new furry friend.

This place is Fantastic ! The people, all volunteers, are the greatest. Everyone went above and beyond in our search for a dog companion for my ailing wife. We found the perfect dog ! Thank you, everyone at AAR Dog Adoption, you are the greatest !

AAR gave me my best friends! We adopted 2 dogs in June, and everyone who works there is so friendly and willing to find you your perfect match. From the time we walked in to the time we left (arms full of goodie bags full of treats and blankets and all kinds of stuff), we felt very comfortable knowing that they take great care of the animals.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Very professional and careful, and from what I can tell they treat all the animals very well. Adoption fees are reasonable and the process was super easy. You can adopt same-day.

Had the best experience at AAR while adopting sweet Sassy. Everyone there was so kind and all the volunteers truly care for the animals. I was provided everything I could need when bringing a new dog home. Thank you so much for what you provide our community Abandoned Animal Rescue!

They took in 2 puppies I found on the streets. I only had them for 5 days but I got so attached, it was hard giving them up. Due to my lease and rules I couldn’t keep them, but when I buy this house, I’m coming back for them ? Thank you AAR for giving them a second chance, I know they are in good hands
