Opened an account a month ago. Aryn was extremely helpful. I have received nothing but the service since then. Very competitive CD rates. I'm impressed so far.

This bank is a joke. Don't waste your time with them. My wife deposited a check that we got from someone into our account. The check was no good. You would think its no big deal. They took the money back out. They then blocked us from online banking. They said the fraud department would call. That was like 3 or 4 weeks ago. Then they blocked our debit cards with no warning today. No email, text, or call. I called and they said fraud would contact us. They said they couldn't tell me anything. Said we would get a letter in the mail. So, we basically have a checking account we can't use. Going tomorrow to close my account.

Since spirit of Texas bank changing again to Simmons Bank, I still have not received new debit card. My husband received his two weeks before end of March. Even his parents has not received them. I trying figure out how I am going to pay on bills. Is it because I need to draw of ssi disability??

If I could rate lower I would. We have had the WORST customer service we ever experienced with the employees at the Mabank, TX location. We ordered checks in November and never received them. I called on Jan 5th and was given a 31 digit tracking number, just to find out that it's not a legitimate #. I called back and spoke to a supervisor and was told they would check into it and call me right back. I did not receive a call that day, Thursday, or Friday. I called on Friday and was put on hold for 26 minutes and 38 seconds, but finally spoke to Christy, who put me on hold and never returned to the phone after another long wait. I called back to get a voicemail, which I left a message and still no return phone call. I called back on Monday the 11th after still no call back or any checks and spoke with Anna, after another long wait. There was not one sincere apology, or any apology at all for all that my husband and I have been put through. I am still left in limbo of where our checks are or who may have them. What we got are no answers, no solution, no concern, and excuses for why we are put on hold for long periods of time. If you are thinking of banking here, I would definitely look elsewhere.

Terrible - Would give less than 1 star if possible - since the migration to Spirit of Texas this bank has gone down hill and fast. Customer Service is non-existent - their online system is complete garbage and that is if it even works. No one will call you back - you have to go in to the bank to work out a problem and that is if you can even get them to figure out how to fix it. I moved 3 accounts form them to another bank. DO NOT GET AN ACCOUNT HERE - you will regret it.

We have been banking here for 4+ years. The merge with Spirit of Texas has been horrible. They do not have telephone or personal support at times most other banks do, they totally shut down us being able to access our accounts, the new debit cards cannot be activated (system just repeats self over and over). We will have to change banks as Spirit of Texas does not show any connection to clients. Sorry they merged as we liked CSB and received good service. That changed within a few months after merger and they started making changes that were negative, stop this, major hour changes—decreased.

In my opinion, this bank misrepresents its accounts on its website and also sometimes when you call in with questions. They don't disclose all the terms and conditions of their accounts in advance. Some account restrictions and denials are only revealed somewhere in their account disclosure documents. Do your banking elsewhere!
