One Saturday morning I wanted a good barbacoa breakfast and decided to give the Lytle store a try. I bought all meat barbacoa fresh out of the warmer along with a stack of corn tortillas and was surprised to find the meat was stringy, dry, chewy, and smelled and tasted exactly like roast beef! It was so much like roast beef I ended up having it for dinner with green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy and a glass of ice tea.
The lack of cars out front on a Saturday should have been a clue to keep going. Texans know the difference between barbacoa and roast beef and will not be fooled twice..
Two stars for the roast beef. It was actually quite good!

Nice clean place..awesome chips made there..they have an assortment of meats and produce..great tortillas. Chicharones. This place is at the end of a strip mall of which one cannot see from the road..They have tamales,barbacoa,and tripas daily..wish people knew about this place..

They have good tamales and barbacoa. I also purchased menudo and patitas de puerco (he cut in half for me) to add to my menudo. The good thing about this is that we don't have to drive all the way to San Antonio. We are visiting family in Pearsall.
