Justin is an exceptional dog trainer! His kindness, expertise, and patience made all the difference in our training sessions. I learned a lot from him, and he even worked wonders with Nelly Nelson's family dogs. Please ask him to share that wonderful story with you when you hire him. Amazing! I cannot recommend Justin enough! I have a very high energy/ active dog who started to demonstrate some fear/reactivity after an incident with another dog. Justin was kind, patient, informative and very helpful in helping me to understand my dog and how to help her! After just the first session I left with more knowledge and tools to help my dog overcome her fears! I am so grateful to Justin for his help and feel confident again in working with my dog. I have already recommended him to family and friends and will continue to recommend him to anyone I come across looking for some help with their dogs. After a few sessions my dog was squealing in excitement to see Justin and work with him. Thank you Justin for all of your help!!!

We rescued an Australian Shepherd mix (about 6 months old) she was very hyper and tended to bite/nip as her way of communicating with us. We realized that we needed professional help or this may get worse. We contacted Justin of Modern Dog, as he had many pictures of Australian Shepherds and we needed some one with expedience in training a herding dogs. We are very grateful we did! We purchased the 4 sessions package. The difference in just 4 training sessions is night and day. She is calmer and more relaxed. We learned that in order to change some of her behaviors, we had to change some of our behaviors. Justin brought his Blue Heeler over to help socialize Paige, and this worked out well and increased our confidence to introduce her to other dogs. We love that he does not use punishment as a way to train our dog! Justin is a professional and great to work with, we highly recommend his services!!

Justin was an amazing help to Joey and me. He gave me so much knowledge and help me better understand my dog everything he said made so much sense to me. Just one session and my dog Joey was doing so great like he never had before! Thank you Justin and we will continue to practice everything you showed us. I highly recommend going to him if you need help not just your dog but you too will learn so much from him!

The reviews about this company are true. Justin is a true professional, and a really nice guy. I hired him to help with an out of control German Shepard, and Justin went above and beyond what I thought was possible in such a short time. This experience was so much more than typical dog training commands you will understand dogs in a different way after learning from Justin. Worth every penny.

Justin was amazing!!! He was so helpful and loving to my little guy Flynn. Flynn is still a baby and deals with separation anxiety and couldn’t even be alone for 10 seconds. Now after one session and Justin’s tips, has been able to be alone for longer and longer which was unheard of for him. I can’t recommend him enough, thank you!!!

Justin really impressed me! He was so much more knowledgeable about behavior in dogs compared to some other trainers I worked with before. I have an extremely reactive pitbull terrier. It surprised me how calm and gentle he was with my dog who’s very difficult to handle. I learn so much just watching how he was with my dog. Other trainers advised me to use some very corrective training tools, but Justin just used rewards only, and had great results and quickly too. I’m thankful I took a chance on him. It was invaluable. Don’t hesitate hiring Justin. Thanks again you’re an awesome dog trainer!

Justin was very knowledgeable of dogs and their behavior. After one session I have learned how to better communicate with my dog and have seen a noticeable change in his responsiveness the following day! I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would definitely book another session.

Justin came to my home and helped me learn to manage my dogs. He was very patient and soft spoken. My animals accepted him immediately. One may have thought that I didn’t need help from a trainer because my dogs are pretty well behaved, but there are some little things I’d like to work on to make life more enjoyable, not only for me but my dogs as well. Thank you Justin for your patience, kindness, encouragement, and instruction.

To be honest I never post reviews, but I felt compelled to post this one. I almost gave up hope with helping my dog with his fearful/aggressive behavior until I meet Justin at Modern Dog. In 2 training sessions I learned so many things I was doing wrong, and how to fix them. Not only did he help me overcome some behavior issues he also taught me to have more compassion, and love my dog better. I’m so thankful for Justin.

I cannot say enough great things about Justin and Modern Dog Training Co!!! Our 1yr old lab LaRue was very anxious and afraid of people, dogs, flags and even leaves blowing in the wind, etc. Justin is so extremely knowledgeable in dogs and their behaviors. From day one, he helped LaRue and US to make sure she gained confidence which in turn helped reduce her anxiety. He gave us such amazing advice on so many things! He has a very calm, reassuring personality which helped our dog AND me! He also brought his amazing dog over a few times to get help get LaRue used to being around other dogs. If I didn't already know what a great trainer Justin is, the fact that his own sweet pup is trained SO well tells me he definitely knows what he's doing. The difference is like night and day between before we started and after our 4 sessions. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND having Justin help with your dogs!!!!

Justin has far and above exceeded our expectations of what we would be able to get out of our two dogs. From day 1 the improvements were evident. We are now able to gain the attention of our dogs and they listen to all our commands. Justin has really opened up another form of communication between us and our dogs that creates a better bond and "partnership". They are more behaved now than ever before. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize Justin's services again. There's literally nothing else we could've asked for. Thank you so much for your time and care for our Stetson and Lady.

I cannot recommend Justin and Modern Dog Training Co. enough! We have a new Schnoodle, Tucker, and he would bark and pull on the leash during walks when we saw ANYTHING. Within the first 10 minutes of working with Justin, there was a noticeable change. In only 2 sessions, Tucker was happily socializing at the park with another dog. Justin is patient, kind, knowledgable and an excellent dog trainer. More importantly, he imparts wisdom to help you become a better dog owner as well. Thank you so, so much for making walks with Tucker an enjoyable experience!
