My service dog and I entered the store. As is normal, he was by my side, stopping when I stopped and walking when I walked. While walking down an aisle, I was quickly approached by a woman who claimed to be the manager. She said "you know we don't allow pets in here, don't you?" I responded in the affirmative and told her that he is a service dog. She demanded to see the tags. I told him that he doesn't have to have tags. She argued. Then she asked about his vest. I told her that he doesn't have to have a vest. Again, she argued. I cited federal ADA law, as well as Texas state statute, as they pertain to service dogs. She wasn't hearing it and instead she was going to call the police on me. I told her to go ahead and do just that, because I work in advocacy for service dog teams and I would love to talk with an officer. I then turned and walked down another aisle. She followed me for a few minutes and then gave up. During the entire shopping trip, I waited for Lubbock PD to show up - which they did not. This was, of course, reported to her district manager (Chamina) and they are hopefully going to deal with this appropriately. To say that this manager is ignorant on service dog laws is a gross understatement, in spite of the fact that I attempted to provide information and education to her.

Rude, new manager is a real piece of work I was shopping had serval items set them down and asked for the restroom key, she said no because you didn't buy anything, well and now I'm not going to.

Store was dirty, there's trash under the shelves, and the shelves were sticky and gross. Manager was rude to my grandmother. Will not be back.

Usually have wat I need in stock only thing negative is they card me for cigarettes I get it.its there job but if u buy almost every other day n all of a sudden one day u forgot ur I'd or misplaced it go buy cigarettes n they wouldn't sell me any n that's cause they already know me smh

Management is terrible is an understatement. Went to Dollar General at 9:51 PM on November 23, walked in and was greeted by the manager on duty, and she said “you know you only have eight minutes right?”. I explain to her that I only had to get two things. I got my first thing and then headed to the counter and ask the cashier if I can get a bag of ice, her reply “ The manager doesn’t let us give ice this late, And I cannot unlock it and she will not either so I will not ask her.” I understand I went late but there are posted hours for a reason, and management did not want to speak with me.

Friendly staff for over 2 years now, however, due to the recent management switch, and the sudden changes made to the store, ie. "We're a cash only store now" and not allowing me to let my child use the once public restroom suddenly, it saddens me to say that, despite it's convenience, I will not be returning. Every time I go in, the card reader is working fine until it's my turn to pay, and my son had an accident in the parking lot on the way out because the restroom was refused to us. The employee behind the counter was quick to tell me that this location was now cash only. So, for myself, I will no longer be a returning customer.
