The level of compassion when it comes to the triage staff is zero. They would much rather be on there phones and can't be bothered to listen to the fact not everyone in pain is seeking pain meds. The radiology staff was awsome as well as the Nurse Prack.

This place was a nightmare to navigate for an MRI for my mother. I asked several people to help as my mother has a broken leg and had to walk. Staff member at registration was on her cell phone when i asked do i need to ring bell for service. Nobody knows the process and it is unrealistic to navigate with any type of disability or ailment. Do not use Covenant.

LONG BUT WORTH READING! I have gotten my calcium score (the amount of plaque you have in your heart arteries) at NorthStar Surgical Center. For many years I had a zero score which is great but wanted a second opinion since I don't eat well and probably not real healthy. I called to check the cost at Covenant Hospital, I knew it would probably be a little more. They said it would be $150. I paid a little over $100, maybe $120 at NorthStar. I was happy to pay 30 bucks to ease my mind on if my score was really zero. I had it done at Covenant in April 2023, and of course they made me pay the $150 before the procedure was done. That I understood. Then 3 months later I get a bill for $84. Knowing I paid at the time of service I called to find out what I was being billed for. They told me the $84 was for reading the scan. There is no charge at NorthStar Surgical Center. Reading the calcium score results is a straight forward process. This is evident from my previous calcium score tests that I have had run. The technicians were able to provide me the results immediately after the procedure. I am unsure the cost at NorthStar with everything going up but that additional cost for reading the scan is just that much more. With this I would recommend NorthStar Surgical Center. Easy parking is an additional plus!

This hospital is a death trap. Stay away dr Hakam Kayesseh, aka dr Smith or Dr Jones. He discriminates against anyone who has military in their background. He is from Syria and needs to be deported back there. We've complained several times to admistration but to no avail. They condone his evil behavior. He is lazy, unprofessional, abusive and lies about patients conditions and why they were there in the system. That is libel. He yells at patients telling them that their faking their problems, and that he's giving them NOTHING. Then he kicks them out. Then has the cops handcuff them and kick them out. Very unacceptable on their part. Something needs to be done about this corrupt hospital. I'm from another state and this is unheard of. Lubbock needs to improve their customer relations.

I went to the emergency department in an ambulance after a motor vehicle accident. They didn't care enough at all about my safety to do a CT scan of my brain AFTER I reported that the airbag had hit me in the head! They didn't even notice I had a concussion after hitting a SEMI truck head on. When I asked the nurse about all the spots I was seeing, she said "well did you eat anything today?" They left me in a room for HOURS WAITING TO GET THE X-RAY REPORTS and when I told them I never even went for x-rays, they finally ordered x-rays... then without worrying about a possible brain injury, they administered injections of pain medication and a muscle relaxer (not that I didnt appreciate pain relief but honestly did not need the confusion of that on top of head injury) they never even looked at my injuries or tried to clean them up, but had no problem with me walking through the rain (barefoot with open cuts on my fee) then they argued with me about my name when I produced ID as I came in and again when the wrong name was on my paperwork. All the while they were excessively rude and hateful! Thank God my kids and family cared enough to get me to another hospital (and I cleaned my own wounds at home). Highly recommend NOT going there (I mean if you like your brain and all).

I had one of the scariest experiences of my life 5 days ago when I had a TIA while at work … from Roderick, to Dr Otabachi to Melissa to EMS team who took me From BobbyJo the nurse in Trauma and my internal Dr. Parajulee to my day and night nurse over the course of 5 days Issac and his counter part at night went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and tailored my care to my needs !!! They made this experience a lot less scary even when i was in unbearable pain they wouldn’t leave me until I stabilized!! If I could give 100 stars I would !!! Thank you 9th floor Covenant team and Trauma Response team !!! I Will remember each and everyone of you for the rest of my life !! I had 4 kids to get home too and they definitely made sure I could !!!!

Waited in the ER for 4 hours and people coming in that were not in any pain got seen before me. Was told it goes in the order of severity but like I said I guess I’m not the right color to get good service. The staff were not friendly at all and took forever for any visitors to get in the rooms with their loved ones. I don’t understand how hard it is to get family members checked in when that literally your only job. Come on covenant. And a Hispanic lady vomiting up blood wasn’t serious enough to go straight back but a lady walking and talking loud on her phone got seen right away???? Hmmm???

This place has gone down hill! I am so disappointed in my grandmothers care. From nurses to Dr.s. They “drop the ball” on procedures, they have prolonged her stay for a week. They can’t get the 8th floor nurses to care. I’m am so upset, I will tell all my family which hospital to avoid if coming to Lubbock. Why do they not try to get her up and walk around? Why is she taking on water in her arms? Why do they keep her on a liquid diet for a week just cause they drop the ball? Why can they only schedule procedures for Random days? I’m just so fed up. I feel like MONEY is the only real care they have coming from the patient. NEVER NEVER will I allow anyone I know to have care at this hospital.

They have on their website that they actively seek veterans to hire and boast that they are veteran friendly--they're NOT, I have emailed the folks who recruit veterans for Texas FOUR times and not ONE person has gotten back to me. I have a MASTERS degree in nursing with a 3.97 GPA. I am currently in a VERY tough FNP program at UTA- number 1 in the NATION for public graduate schools, with a B average-- I have had my license since 1999 and my references are STELLAR--I have applied to NUMEROUS jobs-- not ONE hiring manager has gotten back to me after interviews that went well. It's obvious to me that when they hear the words, "I am a disabled veteran" that this ends the deal... no one wants a disabled veteran in their 50s-- being disabled and being older ... discrimination and agism... at its finest. People complain that they are URGENYLY in need of someone willing to work-- but they're not interested in hiring someone who has an OUTSTANDING history, education and experience wise, if they're disabled or older... MOST nurses working do NOT have a Masters, ESPECIALLY with a 3.97 GPA... many don't even have a BACHELORS--and I have mine from a VERY prestigious university that ALSO ranked as one of the best... fat lot of good it all does me because being disabled and older results in them not wanting to hire me--- an in today's world where everyone younger is quitting or is too lazy to work, they don't want older and/or disabled experienced people...and it's not only WRONG but it's PATHETIC.

Covenant will screw you in the billing department. They don't send out statements on a regular basis, when we got one 2 months after the procedure we made a payment towards it but wasn't sure if insurance was done with their part. 3 months went by before we received another statement, made another payment on it as we can't just come up with $1000 on the spot. Got another bill saying they are turning us over to collection agency if it wasn't paid, came up with $500 to pay towards it. The next month we get a statement from a collection agency! how can they do that when weve been paying! I thought it was against the law if youre making payments. Like they haven't gotten enough money from the govt with all the Covid payments! .

My father in law was admitted here from a small town near by for covid, and just a horrible experience overall… nurses are not attentive, they were rude and when it came time that my father in law was passing away their story wasn’t adding up on how his oxygen machine came off and how he was struggling to breathe for more than 10 minutes while they were in a “meeting” I don’t wish this this kind of hospitality on anyone.

I went last night they were slow only 3 people before me was in waiting room for at least 3 hours, but the saving grace was my nurse Johnny ( i dont know if i spelt his name right).he was incredibly kind and attentive hes the only reason im.giving 4 stars. Its incredibly rare to come.across medical staff who genuinely cares. He definitely deserves a raise
