I have waited over 2 months to write this, as it has taken me a LONG time to calm down. I brought our cat in the morning of August 28, 2023, as he had been very lethargic and not eating. We saw Dr. Meghan Oswald. She ordered x-rays but no blood work. She said the x-rays showed our cat to have Peritonitis, a condition almost always fatal in cats. Dr. Oswald said our cat would die in 10-14 days. I took a picture of the x-ray and left feeling terrible. I sent the x-ray to a family vet friend at the Texas A&M Vet School who looked at the x-ray and said there was no Peritonitis. Our friend said blood work should have been done to confirm a diagnosis like that. Fast forward 10 weeks; our cat is in perfect health and I can assure you that you need to find somewhere else to go for your veterinary care. I can never forgive this clinic and Dr. Oswald for scaring the hell out of my family and I. This was a very traumatic experieince.

Recommend them greatly! They really care about your pets! Very loving towards them! The 3* is for their falsification with prices. Don't fall for the "possible" miscellaneous charges. They will ensure that you pay for it. They say "if they're needed" before procedures but they don't give you a choice after. On top of that, we told them our dog had just gone into heat before we scheduled the spay. They didn't tell us until after the surgery that it was an extra $45 charge for her being in heat. When I told them they knew she would possibly still be in heat when they made the schedule so they should have informed us about the extra charge at that time or told us we could wait, their first excuse was "that's why we put the miscellaneous charge in there; for things like this." I told them that possibility, which was known beforehand, was not discussed. Their next excuse was "she had an enlarged uterus so she could have been in heat or impregnated", basically saying we should accept the abortion charge not discussed beforehand (odd statement from someone in a very Republican state). Be VERY careful and MAKE them explain all charges and POSSIBLE charges before they do anything with your dog!!! They WILL take advantage of the lack of information and not tell you until required payment time...

They were very kind. I found a stray dog hit by a car. I called a few vets before them that had every excuse and wouldn’t take him in that day. Acres north immediately got me in. They put me at ease after being very stressed. Would recommend to anyone!!

The staff here today was extremely great and very kind. I saw a stray dog get hit by a car. I called numerous vets that had different excuses on why they couldn't take the dog for treatment. The staff and acres north were very kind over the phone and put me at ease. I got the puppy to their office and they immediately came out to get the puppy. They kept me updated the entire time. Great overall experience. Would recommend 10/10

I have been going to Acres North for over 16 years b/c they are close to me. The services have varied over the years with ownership and personnel changes. One thing is consistent, the knowledge of the people invoicing me is horrible. I always pay in full with a credit card at time of services. But like today, I got a bill from them 9 months later because they screwed up the invoice I had already paid in full in person. It was only about $12 but the amount is not the issue. I admit I was rude to them, but I have spend thousands there having 3 rescued dogs. Two have since passed. My favorite dog (~15 y/o) I've ever had was euthanized at Acres North a couple of years ago. They botched it in my opinion. They gave her the sedative and then almost immediately gave her the euthanizing drug. I didn't get to say goodbye.

Everyone I've encountered at Acres North has been incredibly friendly and helpful! They are patient and kind with my rowdy pup and also with my seemingly silly questions. They are affordable and the Paw Plans are awesome for managing 1st year pup expenses! I'm forever grateful for the entire team at Acres North!

I am new to town, and was referred by my former vet. My sweet dachshund had broken a nail into the quick and was in a lot of pain. They were able to get him in the same day, and were so nice and caring.

The staff was very compassionate as My parents were going to have to end their dog's life after several seizures & she was not responding. They also hosted them with a concrete paw print which is also very considerate!

I was so impressed with the compassion of the staff from making the appointment to the euthanization of my 15 year old cat. I appreciated the private room that was comfortable with a couch and easy chair and a nice carpet on the floor. I was never rushed and had ample time to hold my sweet cat and let her walk around the room before saying goodbye. I am happy that I held my sweet cat as she crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. All staff members were respectful, compassionate and courteous as they helped me during this sad time. I especially appreciated being offered the private exit from the private room to my car. You all have my heartfelt gratitude.
