This is Layne from the PeliCON Tabletop Gaming Convention in Galveston Texas. This store is the perfect example of the family-run friendly local game store that we (PeliCON) want to support. The owners (a married couple) are friendly and awesome. Their game selection is very vast and top notch, and Randall (one of the owners) knows his games! He can help anyone find that perfect game for their group (he really is VERY knowledgeable about the different games out there). Also, their playing area is HUGE, they have private rooms for roleplaying groups, and every person I spoke to in the store spoke highly of the owners (and I spoke to a lot of people). They have a huge magic the gathering card selection and run all sorts of events! Full disclosure: They will not be getting a booth at my convention (Galveston is too far away and they can’t realistically do it), and I am not getting anything from them, so this review is honest. The store is great, they have “learn to plays” for new people, and I really can’t say enough about this awesome store (and I visit a lot of game stores!) Go check them out!

Love this place! Very few employees to keep the place running ? the owner two puppos who like to (very loudly) say hi to every single person who walks by. ? They're good pups, they just want to make it known they're there.
Good variety, too. Picked up stuff for magic, d&d, and board games there. Seen stuff for Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh, too. And other stuff I can't even place ?

Didn't know what to expect for Longview, but this is a great place to pick up TTRPG stuff, TCGs, and regular boardgames.
When we went they were having what I think was a MTG tournament. It was cool to see people from around here actually playing stuff together. There was also a publisher rep there that let us try out a few of their games.
The staff there seem to be very knowledgeable and friendly, I would have probably asked them about the PF2e Remasters if I wasn't a small creature full of nervous.
Highly recommend, this place has good energy.

I have been going here for years and years since I was a kid. The owners, Randy and Christina, are amazing people. They offer a wide variety of TCG cards and accessories, as well as an equally diverse selection of tabletop and board games. The people who play at the shop are friendly and welcoming, and the community is very open to helping new and returning players of many different TCG and board games.

Christine (owner 2) is wonderful. When speaking with her, visits are pleasant. Unfortunately, she isn't there often. This is sad, honestly. I've been a customer here since they opened (the older space), for years and years now. I've always enjoyed gaming with friends and family in the open gaming area, as well. After having (too) many unpleasant experiences with Randy (owner 1), I kept asking myself why I kept returning to shop there. I kept letting it go and wanted to shop local, so I would just let each instance of rude comments and sour tone roll off my back. This all came to an end yesterday - the final straw, you could say. When (finally) sharing my thoughts with him about how he speaks to me, he only got angrier and started yelling. He didn't want to consider anything I had to say, but only made excuses. His rudeness and loud tantrum ran off a customer who was looking around - the dude flipped, too, ha! It's obvious that customer service isn't the field for him.Even though Christine is great, I can't in good conscience step foot in the place again.RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE:1) No I did not "have him cornered". That is ridiculous. I was standing in an open area and not being hostile or even angry in the slightest.2) Yes, we are all human. And regardless of possible personality clashes, business owners and employees are responsible for how they treat their customers. There is a higher standard that is supposed to be upheld and practiced than people just interacting in normal ways - outside of a business.3) The other 1-star reviews here show this isn't an uncommon circumstance with him, so the same excuse being used for all of them is getting redundant.

I used to love this store, but I've noticed the older man behind the counter has grown more hostile towards me and my partner.
It was very unexpected and no longer feel comfortable going there. ):
