Lockhart State Park is a smaller, yet charming state park that offers a peaceful escape from the city. With only 20 campsites, some of which are quite close together, the park provides an intimate setting for visitors. Guests can explore the numerous beautiful trails, admire the creek, waterfalls, and spring wildflowers, and enjoy the dog-friendly environment. The park also features a playground with slides, a rock wall, swings, an open field, and basketball courts, as well as multiple picnic tables. While the 9-hole golf course has room for improvement, it offers a budget-friendly golfing experience with a friendly staff. Visitors appreciate the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, the easy parking, and the helpful park staff, making Lockhart State Park a gem worth visiting.
