I always support local, but the owner is nasty, rude, and bitter. We’ve been here many times. We took our friends from seguin here today. My children and I are all avid antiques hunters and thrifters. My 2 children were walking around looking for treasures to take home. They have their own money and they’re also customers. The owner came out and was so rude to both of them telling them they had to stay by my side and didn’t care what I had told them. We left the store, after she told me it’s the rule. Keep in mind there’s no sign saying that. I had to go back and talk to her because I was so sad that someone would be so rude to another person let alone children. I told her my children respect adults and just because they’re 8 and 9 doesn’t mean she can be rude to them. She said it’s a “rule” that children have to be by parents. I asked where the sign is she said it’s just the rule she makes stuff up just like she makes the prices up. I told her she’s in the service industry and you can’t treat you customers like that. She didn’t care. What ever. She’s an old bitter woman who smokes in the shop. Also not to mention nothing in the front of room is priced. She will make up prices by how she feels that day. Y’all just lost our business.

Lots of things to look at but a little over priced compared to other stores we visited in the area. We did find one glass shoe that was reasonable back in the back of the store so the trip up from Seguin wasn't a complete bust.
My main complaint is that 3/4 of the store isn't marked. If you need a price you have to take it to someone. Then they would take it into a room for a couple minutes before coming back out with a price.

I love this store and the owner! I have been many times over the years and I always find treasures. Sometimes items from my childhood, sometimes something I’m looking for, sometimes a delightful surprise. Karen recently helped me find an assortment of tiny tea cups for a fabulous adult tea party. Karen, if you see this, it was epic. Everyone loved the teacups and tea pots and other decor. Thank you for your help and for having such a wonderful store!

I'd like to leave a zero star review but that's not an option.
In town from out of state, saw multiple things I would like to have purchased, none of which had a price tag. So frustrating to have to bring every item to the front. When I inquired about 3 lamps, the lady looked over at them, thought a second then blurted out "$25 each". My fiance then asked "how much if we buy all 3"?. In the nastiest voice she grumbled "$75. Did I stutter"?
We also own an antique shop. I would NEVER treat a customer like that.
Tons of filthy items, not much is priced... would not recommend.

I LOVE this place! Yeah, most stuff doesn't have a price tag. I like old school shops. It has so much in there. This will be a must stop next time we're in Lockhart.

Karen and the crew at field stable run a tight ship. The selection is incredible, the prices are a little below market value and I always find something when I stop here after barbecue at Black's. I wish it didn't smell like cigarette smoke, but it kind of adds to the funky, old-timey atmosphere of the place.

Largo shop with a lot to see. Great if you have time to dig through things and find what you are looking for. Not good if you want to know prices. At least half the store isn’t priced and what does have prices are overpriced in my opinion. Picked out some items, took them to the counter and asked for prices. What I was told was way more then I wanted to pay and there didn’t seem to be any option for negotiation. Others have commented on the smell
In the shop. It didn’t smell like cigarettes to me as some have seals, but more just like “old stuff”.

This place reeks of cigarette smoke. There was lots to look at but could only spend about 30 minutes in there before my chest and eyes started to hurt.

While I will say I wasn't specifically treated poorly, from my perspective it was made clear that "my kind" was not welcome here. I was constantly looked over and others of a certain kind were given top-notch customer service while I wasn't paid any mind and dang near completely brushed off. Granted I'm grateful at least that I wasn't followed around like I was going to steal something. The place based solely on its selection of antiques was fascinating and I wish I had a better experience because I could see myself coming back otherwise. I would still recommend you go at least once if you love seeing amazing collections.

Frequent antique shopper. I had some time to kill and decided to go here. It was very stinky, like others have said. So much junk! The only worthwhile reason to go here would be if you had to find an old hat as a costume, or you dress in vintage hats.Knick knacks and old glassware galore. Anything slightly cool, like a few original paintings, were way overpriced. The assault my nose was not anything I got used to, like someone said you would after awhile.

Got a little bit of everything! Tons of space and items to browse. I love coming to Ms. Karen’s shop because she finds some amazing things! Can be a little overwhelming at first, but it’s worth the look. Her prices are very reasonable and so are the other vendors.
