Audit everything they do. Took over a year to find out they did my property taxes wrong, and I am still paying for it. Everytime I bring up my account I show I still owe money on my property and I have receipts showing I am paid in full. Now having to pay taxes the third time, because the clerks missed that or we forgot to prorate. Question everything they do.

Don’t know what has happened to this entire taxing entity. Guess it is the greed that has bled down from the White House. I moved to the country to get away from big city taxes 7 years ago. Now, it has caught up. Polk county has adopted excessive restrictions, excessive taxes and excessive property values. They have removed the ability to pull up and view properly square footage and price. This should be readily accessible to the public at the very least as a source of comparison when gathering research for protesting. Removing transparency of what should be public record is an indication of the determination to dictate values while hiding resources once available to prove either way. If I wanted to live with this type of greed, I would have remained in the big city I moved from. Looks like I may just return there after brutal take over of the citizenry’s research resources to leave our hands tied behind our back. Just wondering if we got stuck with people moving from California into our County offices. Go ahead and “appraise” away. I can use all the deceitful over-exaggerated value I can get to help me with selling my home and leaving this county. I see the writing on the wall. It’s not good. Not good at all!

The office personnel are very nice, but that doesn't correct they appraised my 1266 sq ft frame house for 193,000 when I could never sell it for that amount.
