I was denied medical care by Hillside Hospital Receptionist. I was just released from the hospital for having double pneumonia and bronchitis and really needed to see my primary physician who knows me and my medical History. How can a clinic hire incompetent people with no regard for a patient's health or condition ! There receptionist aren't even located in the USA !

SHADY! Where do I begin with how shady is this place? The call center that may be in a different country? Diversity should not mean poor quality of care!!! They can never communicate clearly and don't understand half of what you're trying to say to them. I'm serious. It's never an easy conversation, because they cannot comprehend what you say! How about this: Gave my insurance information and then got a call that they didn't have it. Wonder who stole my information! They are so lame and unprofessional. They lie to make you relax and not have any issue. OR Dr Pride who only keeps patients that support his cause? I saw him and asked if he was willing to be a consistent Dr for me, as I have been shuffled around and he was all "Of course. Yes." He then scheduled me with a NP but sure did make sure a fellow Pride patient that he saw right before me had his next appointment with him. Dude didn't even tell me what labs he was drawing! Never touched me to give an exam. Barely looked at me. Sat and typed on his computer like I was at a virtual appointment! Doctor? Holy cow. I am not sure I believe that, other than the fact that he did seem knowledgeable. He just didn't care about me. He did, however show great excitement to offer a personalized and touchy and smiley show for the gay man who checked out around the same time. So pathetic. I didn't hold it against him, but his actions were so blatantly obvious and wrong. Shame on him. Again - the theme - Diversity should not mean poor quality of care! OR I never got a request for a portal. I asked multiple calls and in office. Confirmed email. I wonder who is using my profile to steal my benefits. I will be reporting them to my insurance. OR Labs that take a week? WTH? Never more than two days, people. That's ridiculous. Where exactly do they send the blood? OR Staff from Drs to front desk people look like they have poor hygiene, unkempt, not clean hair, clothes, etc. I felt like I was walking in to a free underground "clinic" in the Bronx. Pathetic. Shameful. Scammers. Do NOT risk your health. It will not be quality care.

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We were in urgent need of an appointment, and the immediate opening for new patients made sense only after our experience. My husband had a 9:15 AM appointment but didn't get called back until 10:30, and that was only after we inquired about a refund to leave. While we waited, multiple patients who arrived after us were seen before him. When the doctor, "Dr. Mark Bentley" finally entered the room, he didn't make eye contact or even examine my husband's throat, despite the severe pain he was experiencing. He performed one test and used a phone light to look in my husband's mouth--completely inadequate. When the test came back negative, he dismissed the pain as viral and offered no further help or testing. There were no images taken or any attempt to assess the swelling. I've been trying to get a refund for the $110 charge after they assured me over the phone that there would be a $0 copay. It's frustrating to deal with such a clear discrepancy. I will keep emailing, calling, and even visiting in person until this issue is resolved. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a refund. I hope they address this soon. Overall, the lack of professionalism and care was shocking. I would recommend seeking medical attention elsewhere.

I've spent 100s of dollars here and never seem to get an answer as to what is wrong with my health. They'll run labs when you don't want them and then you get charged some more. There are few doctors here who actually care. The others just try to put you on depression meds . Stomach issues - depression meds Tremor - depression meds Hormone imbalance-depression meds. Please don't go here it's a waste of money and time . Receptionist in the front are as rude as the doctors . The lab people are the only good employees. Find a doctor who cares and skip this place.

I lost my doctor and began looking for a new provider to provide care about 1 year ago. This was not too far from home and I made an appointment with Abbi McDaniel. When I arrived to the live oak location it was an old bldg and not to my standards. I didn't expect much after that. I was very quickly surprised by the amazing staff and care I received. The care Abbi provides goes beyond medical! she listens and is patient. I would recommended her to any one out there. They are relocating to an updated spot bf the end of the year not too far from original spot. I'm sure the change will be good.

I went to Hillside Primary Care office in Live Oak and I was seen by Abbi McDaniel. I went in for pelvic pain that had started out of nowhere the previous night. I had just finished my menstrual cycle and I let McDaniel know that the pain that I was feeling wasn't my usual menstrual pain. McDaniel told me that it was most likely and I quote "girl stuff" (her own words). She wrote up a referral for a vaginal ultrasound, told me to take pain relief medication and sent me on my way. McDaniel never ran any urine, or blood test to properly diagnose me. I wasn't comfortable with her diagnosis and I went to the ER to get a second opinion and good thing that I did. At the ER they did a CT scan and discovered that I actually had appendicitis and I was immediately taken care of. Had I listened to McDaniel, I never would've known that what I had was appendicitis until it was more severe. A vaginal ultrasound wouldn't have detected it. I am beyond disappointed and upset that as a loyal patient, I wasn't heard or seen. I'm even more disappointed that a female FNP-C would dismiss my symptoms and call my pain "girl stuff". I will never come back to this practice, and neither should you.

You seriously cannot make up this amount of wtf from a medical office. Bloodwork? Sure, but not complete. Go twice to get blood draw and nope. Not all the tests. Going back a third time? No. Handicap paperwork not filled out correctly. Don't bother calling. 20 minute holds and an office full of people more than willing to blame someone else. I waited 2 hours in the waiting room because "someone forgot to call". Any referrals will be met with zero records being sent and once again.... Someone didn't.... My wife had an appointment today and they made a mistake and blamed her!!! Run as fast as you can away from this place.

I am a nurse and picky about my providers and needed a new one. My last provider left town and designated Hillside. I have had 3 visits with Abbi McDaniel and 2 of those visits with a PA as well. They were thorough, listened, and were able to help me treat my extensive issues without going overboard on medications. I read reviews of long wait times and there's even a sign in the office about it but I have never waited longer than 20 minutes even with a packed waiting room. On site labs are great as well. And everyone from the front desk to the lab have been very nice.

My office experience at this Live Oak location was definitely not a good one. I had a scheduled appt for 1pm. It was an appt that I made the day before. I provided all of my insurance and demographics to them. There should be no reason why it should've taken them 2 hours to verify my insurance. Something that literally takes 5 minutes to do. It actually took me calling their main line for someone to actually help me. The two clerks that were sitting at the front desk were of no help, and I hope that for future appointments they take patients and their time more seriously rather than sitting there not being of any help to resolve issues. People have to take time off from work to make appointments like this, and it's a slap in the face when they take no initiative to help. I don't know if I will return to this office.

Absolutely the worst primary care in town. I use to be a patient there but left due to their ridiculous 3 month f/u rule that they have. if you do not see them in 3 months and get lab draws they will cut you off from your meds doesn't matter what it is blood pressure, thyroid whatever meds they will not fill them. Just crazy i have never seen a practice do that to their patients. So needless to say my mother decided to make them her primary. She get a biopsy done in July 2023 and it comes back as cancerous. Do they contact her NOPE, We are now in September. 6 weeks post biopsy and she gets an EMAIL with the cancer results. Did they still bother to contact her NO WAY must be toooo busy for that. So she tries to reach them to get an appt for the referral to the oncologist. No answer or no return calls, nothing. So i call them and press the MD incoming call button and reach someone and have a field day with him and get her set up to see them the following day. So she goes and they are so apologetic and remorseful of course. Yeah right So they send the referral. Did the Oncologist ever get the biopsy results. NOPE of course not. So here we are almost 2 months later since this biopsy was done and still unable to reach Hillside to get them to send these results. This place is ridiculous. Do not trust your loved ones here all they care about is making a buck.

I had been looking for a Dr’s office for a long while that would actually take their time to listen to concerns and care about their patient. They were thorough and made sure all my concerns were addressed. I’m glad I have found just the right place at Hillside Primary Care! Such great customer service from the front receptionist, nurses, doctors, lab, and checkout receptionist! Super friendly pharmacy all in one location! Thank you, Hillside Primary Care!

Making the appointment was fast and easy. Staff were helpful and friendly. My time in the waiting room was minimal and comfortable. Dr Roy was thorough, took his time and answered all my questions and addressedmy concerns. Before coming in to see me and during the visit, he took some time to go through the notes from my last visit and my medical history and updated it. I always leave there knowing I'm getting some of the best care you can get in San Antonio. I feel like a valued client at Hillside.
