Visited Richard at La Vida Starships and purchased a used mast for my dinghy sailboat. (I broke my original mast. Operator Error) Had to do some tweaking but the new -to-me mast is going to work fine. Customer service was stellar.

Beware of Richard. Don't ever list your boat with him. Just read the reviews. Avoid legal action and frustration just move on to a well accredited yacht broker. You will be sorry as I am.

This is going to be long, but I think its worth the read.Our situation was unique, in my opinion. In August of 2018, we lost our father to the awful disease, cancer. Our dad was a sailor, if you knew our dad, when you saw a sailboat you instantly thought of him. The Last Mango (his Sailboat) was his 4th child and when we lost him it took us awhile to decide to let go of it. I first connected with Richard just after Dad passed. He went to the boat and did a market analysis for me for the purpose of giving the boat a value for my Dads will. I told him I wasn't sure if we would list the boat soon if at all, he didn't mind and offered to help. About a year later we decided to list, just before the pandemic hit we went on the market. Richard cleaned the boat inside and out, helped remove personal items, kept it clean (scrubbed the boat multiple times while it was listed), he checked on the boat as my siblings and I were out of state, he even moved it to another marina to help save us on the slip fee. ALL of this Richard did without ever meeting any of us, he had no connection except the love of sailboats. Richard got us multiple offers and eventually sold our boat, making it a seamless process all of which I did not have to be present for. He handled the inspections and appraisal etc. He cleaned out the boats remaining items and met one of my family members to get them to us. Richard absolutely went above and beyond for our family. We could not be more thankful that he came into our lives when he did. Thank you Richard, I wish our Dad could have met you.

I have known Richard for years. I have bought and sold several boats with Richard. He is always professional, involved and active in putting together buyers/sellers. He know how to make things happen. In addition his sailing and boat knowledge are not only superior, but Richard avails himself to his clients for help and advice well after the sale. If your looking to buy or have a boat serviced Richard is the “ONE” and only person to call. No hard sales, honest, fair and 40 years in the industry We wanted a boat to play on and he found the one reasonably priced, great shape for older model took time to show us all the ends and outs of the boat.
