Hello,It took me a while to process the gross mishandling of my case by Litzy. Additionally, after reviewing the reviews in which most cases I take with a grain of salt, it became very apparent to me during my observation there that they were correct. I witnessed the preferential treatment of the Hispanic woman and mean vs. how African Americans were pushed to the side or given the run around while your staff pretended they wanted to help. The website states that the company is about diversity and inclusion, but this is far from the truth. Your team is partial to one ethnicity. I replied earlier, requesting someone other than yourself to call or email me regarding the mishandling of my application, and you stated that my crisis was old. Please tell me where in your requirement does it provide a timeframe that this NON-PROFIT COMPANY that gets federal and local aid can't assist someone in need? Again, I told you that I had to buy a battery for my vehicle and purchase medication for my son as he lost insurance; you did not ask for receipts. I feel there has been so much misrepresentation with this company as well as mishandling of federal funding; I believe a thorough audit needs to be completed, and as much as I would like to say surprising, you will find that the majority of the assistance will show it is going to one particular group of people. Likely, the said individual has assisted on multiple occasions. It is no coincidence that every review has the same complaint, which has gone unchecked or unchallenged. Is your board of directors aware or unconcerned? There is no diversity amongst your caseworkers in this place. Your response to all concerns online is generic and nonchalant, and what is stated is far from what is shown when people arrive in need. I feel like you looked for any reason to deny my application, which is baseless. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS!

I would not recommend this source for rental or any other assistance from them. They include zelle help from family and friends as income even though it was a one time help and for food. By doing this actually raises your yearly income to be more than what it should be. Because of this, you are considered as making too much money. So, you will be denied. They say they are a community that’s cares for people and their needs for assistance in reality they are not. They have been denying people that actually needs the help in the household.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT do an application with them or anything. I wish I could give them negative stars instead. One star seems like giving them high praise if you ask me. I did an application BEFORE October 1st so my rent wouldn't be so high for them. I brought in ALL the documents I needed to bring initially. When I finally got an interview (which took a week an a half to get) they asked me for more documents. I sent all my documents to Kat Negrete like she requested and asked her in the same email to let me know if there was anything else missing. All she kept asking for were updated ledgers and an update address for my boyfriend which I repeatedly sent to her. She told me a w9 was all that was left but not even 20 minutes later Lat responds saying it's been 3 days and can't do anything about it. Again I did everything in a timely manner only to be told oh well too bad so and because of a mistake Kat did. When I asked to speak to theirsupervisor, they continuallysay no that i have to fill a form out. I eventually left a vm to Brittany (one of the supervisors) and i am yet to hear from her. I have also been callinh for days now and no one ever answers. Finally after 100ds of calls. a Patsy answers and tell me to wait to transfer me to a supervisor but instead hangs up on me. I call right back and now it goes straight to their inbox everytime. Ive sent the CEO Gilbert Montez a message and EVEN HE doesnt respond. I have proof of rverything i am telling you guys. So i pray no one has to go through this again. Turns out other people have gone through similar go arounds by this organization. I really hope they get shyt down becasue at this point they are just giving people false hopes. Again Please Please Please do NOT do an application with them. ,

I don't recommend this place, it's racist, it's just that Mexicans serve people who speak Spanish, and if they find out that you don't speak Spanish !!! they don't do you any favors easily for white or black Americans , and they make you come back and go again and again and again and again , a lot of ugliest excuses from the beginning, and I came here about eight times just to register for Christmas presents wish list I done everything on the forms for about three weeks ago , and I was here since early this morning 7:35 am , and when my turn came at 10:30, the lady on the window she said sorry you have to come in another day !!!!! The case workers stop taking any client for the Christmas wish list ?! I told her but I have been here early morning and it’s still 10:30 it is not 11 yet !!!! she said yah we stop taking people she was so rude ???! . And she said Yes, we don't get any of you, and she said, Come tomorrow if you want ?! I was so angry and mad inside of me but I keep smiling for her because I know why she is doing that ?! Is not just me there is slot of people was talking about her ! I was silent and shocked ? then she keep calling and taking another woman who was waiting after me. She was also wanting to present for Christmas, and she said to her , Yes, wait, you will meet the case worker?! We don't know what's going on." It takes too long and it's too racist!!!! Will never come here again!!!!

I have been employed with CCA leading our programs department. It is truly the most diverse place that I work. I love that I get to go to work and help others in need because I have been on the other side of needing someone to help me.

This place does cater heavily towards the Hispanic community. I’ve seen it going there several times last month. After meeting all the requirements needed to get assistance they still found a way to deny my application. The requirements on their website is very different from when you go in person. They never reached out to me to even let me know I was denied I had to reach out to them. I also feel like they didn’t review my documentation thoroughly. I was denied because they said I made too much money according to my bank statements. They were looking at my bank statements before my hardship happened in which I didn’t need the assistance. I asked them to look at my income that came in after my hardship date and they were supposed to have gotten back with me and I never heard back from them.

I deeply regret to be placed in a position to have leave a negative review. Ethnic people not of Hispanic descent need to be made aware that if you are in a situation of risking an eviction, being homeless with children CCA may not make your case a priority. I was approved first week of this month and it is now the 18th of the month and I still have not received a check that I’ve been approved for to pay September rent. I know that the office is busy therefore I’ve respectfully emailed Sindy a few times to get an idea of when to expect check, only to be give dates to pick up a check for rent that come and pass with no communication from her on behalf of CCA. Today I went to office because I was told a check would be available provided my landlord submitted and additional document by last Thursday and at the latest Friday. My landlord submitted it literally just a couple hours after receiving on Thursday. I sat in that office waiting for Sindy for an hour before going back up to receptionist just to find out that Sindy replied back to reception via their little text system she will email me when check comes. The receptionist seemed to have forgot to relay the message to me before I sat there for an hour. She nonchalantly told me likes she didn’t just let me sit there for a hour. I could have made it to my daughter school on time to pick her up. Meanwhile it is 3:22pm and Sindy has yet to reply to an email from 8:30-9am this morning. I’ve seen a couple other people of different non-Hispanic ethnic groups the times I’ve been in the office, what seemed to be pushed to the side. I had better expectations for a “Christian” organization. My rent is now 18 days past due and my landlord is ready to evict. I desperately need this help and although I have been approved not sure if or when I’m going to get it. I have a special needs son and two toddler girls. I can’t afford to be evicted or homeless now because of this situation with CCA. Highly Stressed even more now than I was before I reached out to CCA for assistance.

I’m going to be 100% honest…at first, i had the WORST experience with the case workers Litzy and Cindy. They judged me from the time i walked in the office. They should not be employees of this Christian organization. Truth of the matter is, i really needed help.? litzy did not want to help me at all…even though I gave her everything she requested and MORE!!! I ended up filling out a grievance letter to complain about my experience with her and the rude front desk receptionist betsy and received a call a few days later from Sharon, who I would like to call my GUARDIAN ANGEL!! She was very empathetic, friendly and patient. CCA ended up paying my rent up to TWO months AND my light bill!!!! I am filled with so much gratitude. THANK YOU CCA for putting me back on my feet!!! God bless you Sharon!!!?

Caring, supportive, never condescending; if you need, or want to, help this is the place in the Lewisville area. Been helping my son and I since my husband passed when he was 4yrs old. Food, back to school, xmas- even pet food has been offered with a kind heart! So appreciated!

I have been volunteering with CCA for 12 years now. They are a vital organization for so many of our less fortunate population. Wonderful organization!
