0 Stars in my opinion. Not sure about other Austin Automotive Specialists locations, but this one is full of scammers. The regional manager goes by the name of “Clay” and he tried scamming us as well. My girlfriend brought in her vehicle to get it checked out after a minor accident and they stated we needed 3 new parts and that the labor and installation was around 2.5K, they informed me that an alignment could not been done unless i bought new parts and installed them, my gut was telling me to take it to the dealer. Once the dealer checked it out, I was informed that there were no damages and all the car needed was an alignment. I warn you guys to never do business with this location, they made up that my vehicle needed unnecessary work and parts in order for them to make almost 3k off of me and my girlfriend. They will try to act friendly and family like, but in reality they are trying to take your hard earned money. I added an image of the form they gave me stating the parts and labor i “needed” to get, and an image of the dealer fixing the problem with a simple alignment.

Able to schedule in a timely fashion. Reasonable pricing for service which is reliable. Managers are knowledgeable and helpful. Will continue to use AAS for auto service needs.

HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PLACE AND THE UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGER I ENCOUNTERED ON THE PHONE. IN FACT THE WAY THEY TREATED MY FAMILY IS A DISGRACE- THEY TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY 84 YEAR OLD PARENTS….NOT REALIZING THAT I EXIST AND I WILL NOT LET THIS SLIDE.
I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO LOOK AT THE BAD REVIEWS,NOT JUST THE GOOD ONES…..BE CAREFUL OF THIS PLACE.
My 84 year old parents brought their Hyundai Sonata here to get the battery replaced last week.
Dad asked them to check the starter as well, they said it was fine.
A week later they couldn’t start their car and decided to get it towed back to this place to see if it was a faulty battery.
Low and behold all of a sudden the mechanic said it’s the starter…. They want to charge $700 for that….. also the axel boot….. well they wanted $900 for that…… and suddenly rear brakes as well needed to be done. How come Hyundai who service the car regularly, did not discover all of this?
They presented my father with a bill of $2200, which he was able to get down a couple of hundred….Not to mention, the big items were covered by drive train warranty and when i mentioned to manager that these parts should be covered, he didn’t want or care to help….he gave me an attitude on the phone and said rudely “well how am i supposed to do that?”
These people should be closed down for their unprofessional behavior and taking advantage of customers…,i am reporting them to BBB…. Not only did they attempt to rip off my parents, they didn’t care about anything other than their $$$$ and showed no respect or care. Enclosed are the standard amounts that should have been charged for those large items…. And as you can see their prices are outrageous. For a place thats been in business for so long they should be ashamed of themselves.

I had a complicated issue with my car’s exhaust system. It took a couple of attempts to finally discover the problem, but they were very professional and accommodating to my needs. Stood by their warranties and got me back on the road!

This is a revised review because I gave a bad rating the first time around due to a misunderstanding. I circled back with AAS after being disappointed about an initial AC repair. In my original review I cited that after having A/C topped off and initially being told it had no leaks, the AC went out a couple of weeks later.
There ended up being a leak in the line that needed to be repaired. On my 2nd visit, they replaced the leaky line and were nice enough to not charge for the coolant refill.
At the end of the day, it was only a minor inconvenience to have to take to the shop a 2nd time and didn't cost me anymore than if I had had the leak fixed the first time. . The service is very fast and the communication was good. I would recommend AAS to others in the future.
