(For rcc in Galveston) 4 stars. I was in an awful situation and staff I felt had my safety as their priority as well as looking after me during my stay. We got two hot meals a day, a bag of basic necessities, a bed and shower, as well as storage. All kinds of people come through and I felt on edge but overall respectful. Staff made sure my face wasn’t in photos and made sure I was with someone by my side or safe. Jazmin a staff and Courtney were wonderful people. Laurie was overworked, bless her heart, but she really cared for the people there. Mrs Rosa was kind to me and well spoken. I felt taken seriously and my needs accommodated for. Only complains I have is that some other people felt under heard or not taken seriously enough. Some staff seemed overworked and some people in help felt a bit rushed or dismissed by some. Overall it was an amazing place. Staff even brought candies and fudge trays. The food and snacks were good imo. Communications between Staff did feel discombobulated and lead to some hiccups but I know everyone is trying their best. Thank you for saving me. -AJ

They are mixture of rude and kind staff. It's seems that some employees are overworked. One staff member was very harsh in her tone of voice when I called and she didn't consider what her occupation is. Another Staff member lied on me and said I was being mean in the cafeteria after experiencing high levels of stress. Two of my roommates didn't consider my feelings when they had inappropriate conversations and were very mean, when approached. I felt I constantly had to be a bigger person when I was dealing with my own set of battles. They did make arrangements for food, transportation for other resources, and kept the shelter clean. I'd give it a 2.6 almost a three. But I think that in my personal experience safety of clients and children is a big miss here. The woman definitely need more help. And a lot of clients lean on the defensive side. As far as kitchen some some choose to be flat out insulting if you choice to be yourself your deemed odd or strange. Lastly the woman in my room showered and were caring asked me If I needed anything or if I'd be going to lunch or want to go to the beach or anything like that. The staff also announced themselves when they came in. It's going to get better. I see great things in the staff and facility okay..bye ? thank you for having/helping me.
