Dog-friendliness: Didn’t notice any enclosed spaces for dogs, but there’s plenty of grassy area to play fetch.

Park is small, but great if you have toddlers as the equipment is geared towards them. There are restrooms onsite and a short hike to see Lake Travis. While there, a man let his large dog defecate near the children and equipment. He didn't even think twice to curb his dog, but rather continued on with his walk.

This is a great park… I will update this review with pictures in the very near future. Please note that the sailmaster in Pickleball Court, the Silletti is no longer used for pickle ball but it’s rather a basketball court again at that location brand new Pickleball courts have been built here at the park.Playground: New-Ish, well serviced and extensive as far as your average playground goes…they even have musical instruments built-in to the playground so the kids can play everything from the xylophone to other fun percussion instruments… certainly not your average city park playground.Restrooms: There are restroom facilities at the park, and like the rest of it certainly above average as things usually go …there’s a men’s and women’s side that is lockable and separate with very adequate facilities, as well as a public water fountain with fountain and larger container fill up in between the two restrooms. They even have dog bowls by the water fountain that seem to always be filled with fresh water for the pups…. I’m not sure who does the filling, but they always seem to be there :-)Dog-friendliness: They have a dog area, set aside and fenced and sub fenced and is one of the largest separate dog parks I have yet to see at a public park… it has at least eight built-in benches and seating areas all across it, as well as built-in exercise, and obstacles for the dogs, and a nice surprise was even the trash can receptacle outside of the dog park actually had plastic bags for public use for your dogs business to be put in…fully stocked with bags. (That one blew me away…:)Picnic area: Picnic areas are ample and spaced out with inground grills at some of the locations. There are also cement padded, built-in, permanent picnic tables for public use….all in great shape and well-maintained. This is a large area, much bigger than most city parks… and comes complete with everything from a batting cage to a huge dog park to New Pickleball courts to even a paved, jogging, running, and exercise circuit, training, built-in path... Like I mentioned…not your average city park.

Great hiking trails... especially if the water level in the lake was closer to normal.

It’s a wonderful park. It embodies a very natural and unassuming aesthetic. There’s a 35 minute loop all the way around and there are certain lookouts that have wonderful views.Playground: There is a wonderful playground for kids and families.Restrooms: There is a structure with a men’s and women’s bathroom. There is a security camera in the area for public protection.Dog-friendliness: The park is very dog friendly, and there’s even a dog park accessible to the public. Bags are provided around the trail.Picnic area: There are several picnic areas with built-in barbecue areas.

Lakeway city park. I used to call this place my home. Ah the heart of lakeway it seemed, people playing in the water, birds chirping, wildlife thriving, and kites a flying. I had my first kiss here, a very romantic spot. This place magical to me, reminding me of disneyworld. I went into hiding for 1 year and came back to this “beautiful” park, and was SHOCKED to what I saw… Wow the greens… gone. The birds… dead. The kites… stuck in the tree. I could not believe my eyes, a once beautiful park dried up of water, no wildlife, and no green can be seen from the naked eye. I am disappointed, I wanted to take my kids here someday, but just the mere thought of this parks presence does not make me wanna even start a family anymore. I need to get out of here.. I NEED TO LEAVE.. I miss you old lakeway city park, but you’ve changed.
