Mylissa is the best nail artist In lakeway, austin, and honestly, the best person to have ever done my nails. She puts quality into her work and takes time to create the look that you want. She has done my nails for the past five years, and she never disappoints. She not just cares about the care of your nails, but she also cares about you! Going to get my nails done is always fun because of the meaningful conversations we have! Her nails last forever, they don’t chip, and they look amazing! I HIGHLY recommend you go to her.

My hair stylist referred me to her nail salon, which I thought was this business, but ended up being Elegant Nails. I made an appointment to get a full acrylic set with cateye French tips and pedicure. The appointment was with the manager Mylissa and the overall initial appointment went well and we had a great conversation. Although I had a pedicure scheduled, they accepted a few walk-ins and told me they would no longer be able to do it and asked that I come in the following day (on a Saturday). This was somewhat annoying (especially considering this was my first experience with them), but I agreed and found a time. After my appointment and taking a closer look at my nails I realized she only used the nail drill (not an actual handheld buffer) to smooth the surface of my nails. I noticed many bumps and imperfections including residual acrylic under the nail and glitter outside of the French tip (even up to my nail-bed/ cuticles). I came in for the pedicure the following day which was scheduled with a different nail tech, however Mylissa was in and she's the first person that greeted me. She asked if I wanted to get the pedicure (pink color gel with cat eye) and I confirmed yes. I also in a very polite way asked if someone could buff my nails and repaint the surface with the top gel coat. She immediately got defensive and said that she wouldn't be available for a few weeks. I replied with "it's just buffing the surface and adding a top coat. The entire nail set does not need to be redone, nor will I be making any changes to the design." She then replied in an aggressive way that she's the only person that can do it. I then replied "you're saying your nail techs can't buff the surface of my nails and do a top coat? This is very simple and I would imagine they all are capable of doing this." She continued to say that she's the only person that could. I replied with I had a manicure and pedicure scheduled yesterday and came in again today and will not be coming in a 3rd time to get my nails done. This was extremely surprising, embarrassing and very uncomfortable as other clients (including the one sitting in-front of the manager) were also clearly uncomfortable by the situation. I'm shocked by the lack of customer service and the extremely unprofessional behavior of Mylissa. She offered no solutions, apology, nor did she try to remedy the situation in any way. Small concerns which could've been resolved very easily and could've resulted in an overall positive customer experience resulted in a very negative experience and poor customer review based on how the manager Mylissa handled the situation. I hope Mylissa comes to realize this and treats future new and existing customers with more respect and decency. I said "ok, I'll go somewhere else then" and drove a few minutes to Elegant Nails. They were able to get me in immediately, did an excellent job fixing my nail set (free of cost) & gave me a wonderful gel pedicure. I'll definitely be back to Elegant Nails but would never consider going back to Truelux. I hope the owner sees this review, addresses the situation / completely inappropriate and unnecessary response from the manager and reconsiders how they run their store.

Recently moved to the area and needed a new nail salon and decided to try this place. First off, I’m EXTREMELY picky when it comes to gel/acrylic nails. They were prompt from the start when I requested an appointment and booked me the next day with Melissa. I told her what I was looking for and she made sure throughout the whole appt to continue asking me if I liked it. Most ask once they’re completely done, but she asked when she shaped the first nail and when she painted the first nail. Melissa was kind and conversational and did a great job. Fair prices as well! Definitely will be returning

True Lux Nails in lakeway is a gem. One of the few places in lakeway that will take appointments and stick to the appointment time. Mylissa is the most professional, hard working nail tech who makes my nails look absolutely beautiful and unique every time. The other nail techs and pedicurist do a great job on the pedicures as well. I bring my daughters to the salon and they actually give them the full service pedicure like I ask. Love this salon in the heart of lakeway!

This was my first time at TrueLux Nail Salon and I will be back! My nail tech, Thuy, did such a great job on my manicure. She checked in with me throughout my appointment to see how I was feeling and to make sure I was comfortable. The environment of the salon was welcoming and all of the techs working seemed very kind. I recommend TrueLux to anyone in the area looking for a quality salon to get their nails done!

Mylissa is AMAZING at what she does! I have been going to her for years. She always knows what I am asking for and I have never left the salon disappointed!! She has wonderful customer service and knows all her customers by name when they come in the door! I highly recommend her!

I really enjoy going to this saloon and will definitely continue to go! Mylissa is such a hard worker and great nail artist, the last two sets she has done has been affordable and adorable!! I have gotten so many compliments and would recommend everyone to go here, I drive all the way from San Marcos and it is definitely worth the drive!
Requested style: I have brought two sets to Mylissa and she executed them perfectly. They looked so amazing and I couldn’t imagine them being anymore perfect!

Terrible customers service.You make an appointment and then you arrive and they tell you that they can't do that service, acrylic nails. What should you expect? Having already made the appointment previously

The environment in the salon is so nice and welcoming. Whether you go in for a walk in or have an appointment, they are always prompt and get you a spot immediately. If you’re looking to get your nails done, Mylissa is truly the best nail person I’ve ever gone too. She can do any design or nail that you ask or show her. I just got a new set and showed her a picture and they turned out exactly how the picture looks.

I went in for my second time today and I left extremely pleased just like the first time I was there! I went for a simple pedicure and manicure and they did a great job! I loved talking with the manager, Melissa, who genuinely cares about her customers. This nail salon is laid back and has a very calm atmosphere, which is hard to find in this area! So happy that I found this hidden gem less than 2 miles from my house!

Just moved to the area and decided to try this shop for my nails. My appointment was at 10:15. I walked in at 10:10, but my nails didn't start until 10:45. The tech was very nice and apologized multiple times. They do not offer acrylic so I went with dip. The service was very nice, but I absolutely hate my nails. They are all different shapes and sizes. I asked for square square and got some rounded square and some diagonals. None of my nails are straight or smooth. I don't know if it was just an off day, or if this typical quality, but I want to cry.
