FARRAH ! Gave great customer service. The kitchen counters need to be redone other than that our stay was GREAT.

Check in was easy and friendly but the office was piled high with boxes. It looked like a disorganized storeroom more than a front desk area. There was a garden hose stored in the dining room. (It was quickly removed after we reported it.) The adjacent Lake Travis was almost 50 feet low so was inaccessible. One bedroom had a partially patched hole in the wall. The swimming pool had a green color and was closed the next day.

The first unit I had was terrible, it was one of the older non updated units. I was moved to an updated unit and it was fabulous.

My family and I rented two rooms for a trip to see the eclipse. The initial impression was favorable but then we realized the state of disrepair. First the good: the overall vibe of the rooms were nice. Outdated but pleasant. The area is peaceful and having corn available to feed the deer was great (at $5/bucket). There were a lot of deer around. There were a lot of recreational options; tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard, pool, ping pong, The not so good; the rooms were poorly maintained - towel holders falling off the wall, bare wires, peeling paint, fascia falling off, hole in a towel etc. they had recreation things but they didn’t have a ball pump or a volleyball, the pool wasn’t heated and was frigid (even the desk clerk said he wouldn’t get in it until August). You have to pay extra to use the billiard table or the air hockey. And this hotel is an hour or more from anything to do in the area.

What's good about this place is that it's a very interesting area and it's has easy parking...plus its not far from LA fitness and has an excellent restaurant area not far from hotel. The deer are very friendly and you can feed them plus they have a jacuzzi bathtub and you get two bedrooms. The place isn't as modernized yet it has an excellent porch and alot of friendly Texas attitude.

Came for the deers and Austin’s weird, the rooms however were not that great. Carpets are stained and dirty. The bathrooms are filthy and outdated. The beds mattresses are stained near the bottom, the covers were also dirty. There’s a faint smell of must. Not usually the germaphobe but after staying here I felt disgusted. I would advise bringing your own cooking utensils, pots, pans, and some cleaning supplies. Again, don’t mind the rooms being outdated but needs a good deep cleaning.

Very nice quite gettaway! The Shores is in a pretty Hill Country setting. We loved seeing the deer roaming the grounds. We could either roam the grounds or leave the resort and explore the Hill Country!

Our unit was recently refurbished recently and was very clean. The office stay was very helpful. It was fun feeding the numerous deer. It was an easy drive to Austin. We enjoyed walking around the parks by the lake.

The place is quiet and the friendly deer are fun to feed. There are places to hike close by maybe a hour away. The towns close are nice. The unit we were in did not have much equipment to cook meals, so you may consider eating out some.

The staff were very good and accommodating!! The rooms were newly renovated and extremely clean! Lots of fun things to do like shuffleboard, ping pong, tennis, swimming pool. The pool table was not free and that was disappointing. There was no net to clean pool which was also disappointing as the pool needed it. The deer that roamed the property was a really fun surprise.

When we first walked in the first thing that hit us was the smell. I’m not sure what it was being used to cover up. I think it was essential oils. My daughter thought it smelled like Italian seasoning. It had a very strong basil, and mint. Once we got further inside, there was a very large stain on the living room carpet and black footprints leading throughout the living/dining area. There were no comforters/quilts on the beds, just scratchy blankets. We asked if we could be moved to another room and we’re told the resort was full and any other room that was under renovation would be worse than what we had. I understand that the place was under renovations, but this room should never have been rented out.
