“I just read a review that really criticized the pharmacy at this location as well as the store itself. I gotta say, I'm really surprised because every time I've used the pharmacy, or the grocery side, I've gotten exactly what I needed. So here is my take on the situation. Our H-E-B has probably been here for a while, and what YOU have to remember, is that this used to be a small town, where this H-E-B was perfect for what was needed. Now that the town is rapidly expanding, H-E-B has to expand also, which can cause some inconveniences. So sometimes it's hard to keep stuff on the shelves, especially during the holidays. Don't get your panties in a wad if it's not there, give them a little time to restock it, or ask someone if they have what you need in the back. The folks that work there are amazing and are always willing to help. I love this H-E-B, and all the folks who work there and thank you from the bottom of my heart”

“The staff was very helpful when I needed help finding something. However, I typically only go to this location as restroom stop on family trips. The restrooms have always been very clean, and at the times I’ve been there, I didn’t have to wait. I’m one who requires a disability accessible stall. I love this place because unlike a fast food place or a convenience store, there is more than the typical two accessible stalls. Also, each handicap accessible stall, I have been in, in my opinion, as someone who has used both a walker and a wheelchair in my lifetime, is spacious enough for a walker or wheelchair of any size. Another thing I like about the restrooms in this place is they have purse hangers on the door. To me, this is not only a cleanliness issue, but a safety issue as well. Overall, the Texan is a great place to not only get the typical items you would find at a convenient store, but they have a wide variety of handmade sandwiches, salads, and desserts. This place is also a great place to go. If you are in need of a gift item, especially a gift item with a Texas theme. Highly recommended!”

“so, ive been here for 8 years and it has been great. this gas station was my childhood, and sand hills down the street. but everything has been great, great everything. plus food is good.”

“My preferred gas station to visit in La Vernia. In my opinion it definitely has the best combination of bottle/can/case drink choices (non alcoholic $ alcoholic), coffee & fountain drinks. They also have a kitchen that makes breakfast & lunch dinner items that are available for purchase such as tacos, burritos, breakfast sandwiches, crispitoes, chicken strips, ect.. They will even make you a fresh full sized pizza if requested. Probably got the quickest, most friendly staff in La Vernia too. I dropped a star because their gas prices are often 4-10 cents higher than the station across the street and the HEB down the road but I'll pick this place every time if I need to actually go inside. The Shell across the street is always under staffed and either the line is long or the person working the register is no where to be found...plus it lacks in other areas outside of price per gallon.”
