Wouldn't sell me a bag of iv solution to give my sick cat fluids because she's not a patient. My work hours make it virtually impossible to get her into a vet.

Very grateful because you have to make an appointment, but I went with my puppy sick and they took me in right away. Start with the fluids and the treatment. I’m very happy with it.

We took our cat for Dr Tom Dayton, he was kind and very attentive to our concerns. He took his time to explain our pet situation and gave us the medicine necessary for her illness. Dr Dayton is without a shadow of doubt the best doctor around us. We are very grateful for having him as our Vet to go. With over 40 years of experience you can trust that he saw and treated almost anything under the sun. We recommend Dr Dayton to all those who loves their pets as much as we do.

I only gave one star just so I could write this review. This is a terrible clinic. The one veterinarian they have probably shouldn't be providing services without the supervision of a competent veterinarian. There was a couple of red flags that happened over time. I have been taking my dog to this clinic since January 2024 to figure out why he had been struggling with weight loss. They took blood after stool and skin testing came back normal. It took them a couple of weeks to call me back with his bloodwork results after calling them several times myself. I was told that his bloodwork looked normal and to just change his food. I took my dog again in June, after I noticed abnormal swelling in different areas of his body. When I went to the appointment I was asked if he was neutered, which he is. The tech asked when I neutered him since his paperwork showed he wasn't. I was extremely confused since he has been neutered since he was a year old (he's 5 now) and I have never stated he wasn't. After they did the examination they noticed that all of his lymph nodes were swollen and asked when was the last time he had blood work because they didn't have anything in his file. This was also confusing considering a few months prior he had blood work there. I then told them that he had blood work here and I was told his results were normal. They went back to "look" and confirmed that his blood work showed to be normal. They of course wanted to do blood work again to determine what could be causing the swelling of his lymph nodes. The doctor said it could be lymphoma and pretty much made it sound like this was a cancer that was ok to have and something that could be taken care of. Come to find out lymphoma is an incurable form of cancer and life expectancy with chemo is at best 12 months of life (4-6 weeks without treatment). After over $900, I was told that his bloodwork was showing he could have a systemic infection, it didn't appear to be lymphoma, and he was prescribed antibiotics for the "infection". After a day of antibiotics we noticed worms in his stool. We were asked to bring in a sample of his stool to test for parasites even though we saw them in his stool and new it was tapeworms based on appearance. Stool with the worms in it, were brought in for testing. The vet calls me back to let me know that the results showed there were no parasites in his stool and it would have been better to bring in stool with worms (even though this was done). He went ahead and prescribed him medication to treat the worms. At this point I didn't trust what he said since he flat out lied to me about bringing in stool with the worms and I didn't trust that he had done any of the testing that he claimed considering none of his results were in the system or in his paperwork. I took him to a different clinic which confirmed he did in fact have lymphoma AND that the worm medicine he was prescribed didn't even treat tapeworms!!!! Here is when I found out that lymphoma is a serious form of cancer that couldn't be treated and he needed steroids or chemo immediately based on life expectancy. The vet at animal clinic would've just let my dog suffer to get more money before providing him with the care he needed. Not only was my dog suffering from cancer, he also had worms that weren't being treated appropriately. If I hadn't gone off of my intuition my dog's life expectancy would be cut even shorter than it already is. If you are looking for a good clinic in the La Porte area go to Bay-Porte Animal hospital. Prices are much cheaper too. Animal clinic was going to charge me another $1200 to test his lymph nodes where Bay-Porte charged me $900. I am reporting this vet to the board. He's extremely incompetent and untrustworthy. Seems to be more worried about collecting money than treating animals.

This is Ruby and Edward garcia, I cannot recommend the Animal Clinic of La Porte highly enough! From the moment we walked in with our dog Rico, the care and compassion shown by the entire staff was truly heartwarming. Dr. Radix and the team were not only professional but also incredibly sweet to Rico, making sure he felt comfortable and safe throughout his visit.
The clinic itself is clean, welcoming, and well-organized, which made the stressful situation of dealing with Rico's needs much easier. We were thoroughly impressed by how attentive and responsive they were, addressing all our concerns with patience and understanding.
A huge thank you to Dr. Radix and everyone at the Animal Clinic of La Porte for their exceptional service and for treating Rico with such love and kindness. It's clear they truly care about the well-being of the animals they look after. We are so grateful for their help and highly recommend them to any pet owner in need of excellent veterinary care!
