Looking for a low key getaway? Ann Ethridge has three quaint cabins 20 minutes outside the town of Kountze. She’ll cook you excellent breakfasts and dinners with fresh berries grown on the property. The skies are filled with stars at night as you enjoy your cabin’s fire pit. Situated in Big Thicket, you’ll be 30 minutes from hiking trails in the National Preserve. On trails deep in piney woods or grassy savannahs you will see and here only nature - no telephone cables, internet service, or litter, but lots of flora and fauna, including carnivorous plants and clean air.

This is our true home away from home. We love the personal attention to every detail. We've stayed at Ethridge Farm so many times we've lost count. This is our "place to go" and always will be!

We’ve had a sweet three nights at Ethridge Farm. Ann and Jay are both kind and attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast is included, we also had dinner one night, and everything was delicious! Bonus points for the dog friendly atmosphere. We will be back as it’s almost impossible to hike all the units in the Big Thicket in just a few days.Rooms: We stayed in the Deer Run cabin. Spacious, comfortable bed, and cool outdoor shower!

We absolutely loved our stay here! We were in town for my grandmother’s funeral, and staying at Anne’s place made the trip so much more comfortable. It’s quiet, clean, and the daily breakfast is homemade & quite tasty!! If you’re looking for a nice weekend away, book this place. You won’t regret it.

The cabins are beautiful and you feel isolated and cozy, even though you’re close to the main cabin in town. The breakfast is unbeatable. And the customer service is excellent. We will definitely be back again.

We loved our weekend here. We stayed at the Blueberry Hill cabin, a very cozy and comfortable cabin in a private location on the property. We enjoyed being able to walk the trails on the property, sitting and gazing at the pond (pictured), and relaxing on the porch swing at night. Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast. This was the most relaxing place I’ve ever been. I really want to come back soon.

Wow! Taking a step back in time and enjoying our room attached to the lodge. Parts were built in 1900, 1920, and 1938! Solid beautiful wood, antiques, and cozy. The service was unbeatable. The breakfast was incredible with fresh fruit and the fluffy biscuits with mayhaw jelly. I had to bye some of my own because it was so tasty. The property is well manicured and huge with trails, spring, and ponds. It was like staying with family before our adventure to big thicket. We were on our way back home to San Antonio from Florida and treated ourselves even the the price was extremely comparable to any regular hotel. Thank you!Rooms: Truly a get away, no WiFi. Window AC kept it cool and bed was so comfortable. We stayed in a room attached to the lodge but cabins are availableNearby activities: Big thicket where we got to see birds, carnivorous plants, snakes, beautiful trees and flowersSafety: Very safeWalkability: Everything is well maintained and trails are easyFood & drinks: I don’t eat meat and miss Ann is accommodating if you let her know any allergies

I surprised my handsome boyfriend with a Birthday weekend atEthridge Farm Bed & Breakfast. It’s located in the Big Thicket, we enjoy hiking in the Big Thicket year round. Ethridge Farms was the perfect location, it’s tucked away enough to have a peaceful private getaway but close enough to drive to town if need be. The outdoor shower is the Best experience ever! Ann and Jay have put so much thought into the little things to make sure you have a peaceful & romanticTime at the Farm. Ann’s breakfast was so delicious & we enjoyed her story’s & history about the Farm. We can not wait to get back there!!!!!!

Such a wonderful, comfortable place. Great lodging, great folks and great food.Such a relaxing, comfortable home like environment. They really go out of their way to accommodate any of your needs and to make sure you are happy and comfortable.I really can’t thank them enough for saving my fathers weekend after the hotel reserved in advance, completely failed and could’ve cared less.
