I have been shopping at this Brookshires for years and the checkout people (who most are now retired or retiring soon) have been the best part of the shopping experience. However, with all the new staff (mostly young people) at the checkout, the once friendly and helpful experience has now become unfriendly, no concern that you are even standing in front of them, no eye contact or conversation. The weekend is the worst. Today, my cashier never spoke or even looked at me and acted like she was annoyed that I was even there. It is so sad that I now prefer to drive all the way to Longview Brookshires, (when I live in Kilgore) just because it is so unpleasant to shop here.

Although I understand that this is a regional grocery. My wife and I are glad to shop with Brookshire's. The people are some of the most friendly, helpful, dedicated that we know of so thanks to all of those who make it happen.

Title: Disappointing Service During Peak Hours
I visited Brookshire's in Kilgore during peak hours, and the experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the long lines at least 5 people deep, only two registers were open. To make matters worse, the milk on the shelves was expired, indicating a lack of attention to product quality.
The most disheartening aspect was the apparent disinterest of the store manager, who was observed loitering near the orange juice section instead of assisting customers or ensuring efficient operations. Additionally, the self-checkout lanes were poorly managed, with staff members engaged in personal conversations rather than attending to customers.
