The staff at Northern Tool + Equipment was very kind and helpful. Sheila was very nice and good with customer service and building rapport with customers like myself. She definitely deserves a raise or promotion. Great job. I was able to get help and make my purchase. Thank You.

Dana Phelps store manager created a situation and escalated it. I tried to buy batteries and warranty a mallet klutch brand. Was insulted beyond belief. Was told no warranty if no receipt or past 1 year. I’ve been buying from northern for years.

I had a very bad experience at the Katy location, no thanks to one of your employees named Israel. He was extremely rude to me. I asked him a question and he began swearing at me and threatening me. I didn't ask for a supervisor because I was visibly shaken and upset by what he said to me. He needs to be fired immediately. If he is not fired then I will talk to corporate. I do not want any gift cards or compensation. I want him fired.

I purchased TWO Powerhorse generators (exact same models) from Northern Tools back in April 2022. I used one of them within a few months and it worked great out of the box. Of course you have to add oil and gas.We needed to use two generators in December of 2022 and we opened up the second generator. We filled BOTH generators with the exact same gas but the second generator (brand new out the box) would not start. After about 10 pulls it started but immediately turned off and would not start again. We tried starting it manually and with the electronic ignition. We were very frustrated with it.Skip forward 3 months and I take the generator in to Northern Tools for a diagnostic. They charged me $60 for the diagnostic fee and they said it would be about a week to get back with me. These generators come with a 2-year warranty. I was told the diagnostic fee would be returned if they found an issue with the workmanship. After waiting for 2 weeks with NO phone call, I went into the store to find out the status. I was told by the technician that he was behind and he would look at it as soon as possible. I get a call from him 4 days later stating the generator is running fine. He said he siphoned the gas out and put a gallon of fresh fuel in it. He stated the battery was dead and could not be charged. I was perplexed that it was something so simple to fix but angry because we could not use it. I mentioned to him something could have been stuck in the gas tank from the factory clogging up the gas line. He stated no particles were siphoned out. I find it very odd that we use the same gas in two generators but one did not work, especially brand new out of the box. He also stated the battery was not a warranty item. After speaking to the store manager she explained to me that I had to pay for all services and nothing was under warranty. On top of the $60 diagnostic fee I paid $22 for one gallon of fuel and the battery was not replaced.I don't find this to be good customer service when you spend $900 for each generator and you expect it to work straight out of the box.Note to self- if you buy any power equipment from Northern Tools, make sure you run and test the equipment ASAP.Previous experienceI took in a chainsaw to get an estimate for repair. I purchased the chainsaw from Northern Tools 7 years prior. I paid $35 for the repair estimate that would go towards the labor of the repair. They told me 3 weeks for an estimate. Around the end of the 2nd week I received a call from an employee stating they could not find parts for my chainsaw anymore. There was nothing they could do. So I paid $35 for them to tell me they can't order parts for my chainsaw. Not a good policy for items Northern Tools can't fix.

Numerous hand tools were purchased from this location by myself and my son for his new career as a Diesel Technician. The breaker bar he purchased from NT&E came with a life time guarantee, which NT&E refused to honor after the head snapped. Not uncommon with breaker bars.....they offered and exchange for another tool but the bar he has is no longer manufactured. We will never do business with NT&E again. This is a total waste of a company and their guarentees should not be trusted.
