I went to JC Penney on Sat July 20 in a hurry looking for Sephora and I was disappointed that Sephora is no longer with JCPenney. As I was about to walk out, the cashier I asked about Sephora said that JC Penney had its own cosmetic area. I decided to give it a try. I needed a new foundation and I needed to get color matched. I found Toni working that day. I told her what I was looking for. She asked all the right questions like what’s your skin type and what are you looking for in a foundation. Based on my answers she recommended Bare Minerals liquid foundation. She picked a shade for me and wouldn’t you know, it was a perfect match. I was soooo excited. Toni really knows her stuff. She’s very fun and professional and I was so happy with her excellent customer service. She listened to my needs and found something I am so happy with. Thank you, Toni, for a wonderful make up experience. Thank you for your recommendation. Excellent job. ♥️♥️

The reason I’m giving this place a four star review and not anything lower is because this is a department store that I kind of like. We all know about the JCPenney photo shoots that people have been doing and that single-handedly probably has kept the photo business they have inside alive. I don’t know how their hair salon is doing and I’m pretty sure everyone loves the Sephora and people also come here to shop and have fun especially since it’s next to Katy Asian town. They have also employed my mom for a couple of years if I’m not mistaken, and they take care of her so I feel very grateful for them. I would honestly give them a five star review if it wasn’t for the fact that I actually hate department stores. I just think they’re boring and they don’t have my style at all if you see how I dress, and that’s not any fault of their own. My mom still buys new clothes here that I love to wear. And as always much love from Houston and the universe.

Though I love shopping this store, the checkout staff are simply not trained. I had this odd experience. First the checkout lady came and applied some vitamin C lotion on her hand and then started chatting with her colleague how good the lotion is then rubbed it inside her body probably underarm, then saw that I was waiting, so she said O ya I’ll checkout for you. Then she billed me, didn’t even ask me if I wanted to use my rewards or use my JCPenney credit card, then she billed me again. I just informed her I didn’t have my jcp card but I wanted to use my rewards, then she falsely told me to use my ssn to get the credit details. When I looked at the bill she had not applied the reward, and she said O I did try looking up your rewards. I mean why do these people work front end if they have no clue what to do.

I walked into JcPenny today and visited the hair salon to pierce my ears and Mirian proceed to pierce my ear lobes. The service was excellent and the earings are high quality. The ones I purchased were 14k gold and the perfect size. Highly recommend!!!

The store is better stocked and cleaner then it was several months ago.
The WiFi was disconnected and it is difficult to get mobile data on your phone so you can use the app to check prices now.
The PRICES are hard to determine. The coupons have so damn many exceptions that you literally have to gather up the clothes that you MIGHT want to buy, go to the register and see what is actually at the price you want to pay. The signs advertising on each rack don’t accurately tell the customer which coupons apply or not.
If you take your time looking and digging you can find some good deals.
