Another bank/branch from the age of the dinosaur. No response to emails seems no one knows the processes, everything is just a surprise, and reliability is questioned.

I have been this branch for over 10 years, I never had a problem with them. Additionally, I feel very safe in this branch.

Today I walked into this Chase branch wanting to exchange some Euros into U.S. dollars. I was met with a fake welcome. I was asked for my credit card and ID, which I handed over. After five minutes of checking, the teller made a proposal whereby the exchange fees would correspond to 7.5%. That was unreasonably high for me, so I declined the offer. I could then see the teller's rude behavior, and that is why the welcome was fake. At this high fee, if you are exchanging EUR 100,000 you will get USD 94,350 instead of 102,000. No bank or exchange kiosk is entitled to such high fees. Where are the U.S. authorities? Online currency converters show a typical ATM rate of +2%, Credit Card rate of +3%, and Kiosk rate of +5%. Europe has done much better than the U.S. in this regard. Banks and currency exchange kiosks in Europe must comply with the published exchange rate and are not entitled to more than a simple, flat fee of USD 5 to 10.

I lost my mom and tried to close her account. They had a hold on it. The banker told me it would take 30 minutes and to stay in the area. She would call me when it was removed. I waited around for about 2 hours. Called her and she didn’t answer or call. It took over 24 hours to call me. I have tried to speak to a manager and can’t get past their automated system. Losing someone is hard enough without having to keep going back to handle tasks like this. They need to have better customer service.

I’ve called about 7 times with no answer, what kind of business doesn’t answer their phone lines? Not only that but they don’t even have an option to wait for a representative or to leave a voicemail. The automated system tells you to try calling back. LOL, call back for what? Only to repeat the steps to try to get a live person on the phone to answer a small question? To say I’m beyond annoyed is an understatement. I will be canceling my account with them based solely on their customer service. Awful...UPDATE: called the location on westheimer and guess what? THEY ANSWERED on the first ring. I’m still canceling my service with them.

2/7/21This review is for Michael Moh for the home loan process. This negative review was due to Michael’s lack or effort to explain the closing cost details to me and the discount point changed 3 times: 1st loan pre-approved letter on 12/31/20 listed -.25, 2nd change was on edoc paperwork on 2/1/21 that show discount point .365 and the 3rd change was when I review the document on-line on 2/3/21 and the discount point was .44. Furthermore, the closing cost on pre-approval letter is not the same after one month. The overall amount for closing cost in the 2/3/21 documents are higher. On 2/2/21 I made several attempts to call Michael and talk to him to understand further about the changes. When I asked him about the discount points amount, he told me that is what it is. When I asked him to see what can be done to lower the monthly payment, he made no effort to help in this matter. His explanation was, that is what it is.To add on to this negative review, I was scold by Michael Moh’s manager when I called at 7a.m. on 2/2/21. I was driving to work and called Michael office # with the attempt to find out about the paperwork status. I called the 1st time and waited for a while and did not get someone one the line. The 2nd attempt, I heard someone on the phone. I asked for Michael, but the person asked me, “do you know what time it is?” My respond was: “what? Ah, it is 7am. .. .The next question from him was, “do you know what time the bank opens?”. Then he lectured me about I woke him up and that the bank is not opened yet. He said he is the bank manager. Yes, he is the bank manager lecturing a client who is trying to check on the home loan application process.Negative points:1) Michael Moh failed to explain the details of the closing cost (he did not give me any explanation about the price change—but simply say that is what it is. He did not explain how the discount point changed 3 times. The treatment was with the attitude that I am stuck and have to settle with whatever price they gave me since I already signed my home purchase contract and it has been executed on 2/1/21.2) I am the client who is giving my business to Chase bank and in the process of this, I got lectured by the bank manager? This is a combination of poor service from Michael Moh and his boss.3) Price change from pre-approval estimate, then change on edoc signing on 2/1/21 and changed again on 2/3/21 makes the whole situation untrustworthy. I have all the printouts to compare the numbers. If I failed to print the hard copy, I would not be certain since all the information is through the chase application. For those of you who are NEW in the home purchase process, I have the below suggestions for you:1) Pick a realtor that someone used and referral to you. Negotion with realtor for a rebate to help you with closing cost. Discuss all the things the realtor is going to do for you (in lengthy details so that you know what to expect). Make option in your contract to let you terminate the contract if things turned SOUR.2) Get pre-approval letters and closing estimate cost for your loan. Get at least 3 so that you are not stuck when the time comes for you to choose. Get a mixture of pre-approval from bank and mortgage companies. (within 30 days period, it they run your credit report 1 time or 10 times, it will be counted as one time –I was told). If all the loans are the same percentage, you need to look at the different CLOSING COST.3) Plan ahead and look for pricing estimate from home inspectors and termite inspectors. Remember, you need to get your inspections done at the beginning of your OPTION PEIOD so that you have time to negotiate.

Worst Chase branch around town. 3 out of 5 times you visit the ATM, it's having technical problem, lack of maintenance, waste of time. Will not come again.
